I sure wish the Features & traits field would populate properly with the class in formation, bonus actions, special abilities, meta magic, ect...
We are all hoping and praying that is all part of the big character builder update we've been hearing about.
I’m hoping they learn from orcpub’s treatment of skill selections. That was the easiest representation of the process to date. Splitting skill selection to the places where skills are ‘acquired’ (race, class and background) is just silly; it doesn’t allow any way to clearly understand what your full set of options are.
Hi all, not sure if this has been mentioned (sorry I haven't read all of the preceding 151 pages) but I'd really like to have some folder option for characters I've created. For example I've had to generate lots of pre-gens for a local conference but I also have the characters I would like to play in my campaigns. Over time I'm going to have LOTS of characters. Would be great to be able to organise these a bit better so I can find people quickly. Sure I can't be the only one who has noticed this.

You're not the only one - this is something that members of the Curse team view as needed too - a proper way to organise multiple characters.
i have just paid for hero tier and it's unlocked absolutely nothing..... i want to roll a minotaur barbarian so paid for the subscription but still stuck with basic races.... why?

The subscriptions do NOT unlock any non-free content. That needs a purchase from the Marketplace.
Along the same lines as folders for characters, I was wondering if there could be an easy way to modify the player name? As a player, I’d prefer it to list my name rather than my D&D Beyond user name.
But modifying the name could serve other purposes too. I could see a DM labeling them as “NPC” or some other setting/encounter-specific moniker. At a convention, labeling pre-gens as “Player 1” or “Player A” might be useful for some people. There may be other creative uses for this space.
I know it can be modified on the pdf (at least with some pdf readers), but it might be easier to have a second entry for player name (under character name) on the first page of the character generator.

You can change characters name at the home section at edit (the one at the left of race section)

A couple of things I've noticed. First, what I would call sub-features don't get exported when you export a character sheet. Consider a Fighter with the Battlemaster Archetype. The fact that he has "Maneuvers" as a feature does export, but WHICH Maneuvers were selected does not. That's a problem. Similarly, Feats don't appear, nor does the selected Fighting Style - you just see "Fighting Style."
Smarter text-handling in the notes area would be very helpful as well. My backstory is too large for the space on the sheet. The export feature's solution is to reduce the font to the point where each paragraph fits on a single line (which results in about a 1-point font and leaves a ton of blank space at the bottom). That's useless. If I manually add in a couple of line breaks I can get it so that at least the first half of the backstory is displayed and is readable, but it would be nice if there could be a happy medium such that the font is reduced only so far as needed to display the whole backstory. The current choices are either too big or too small, and it would be nice if there was a button to switch the scaling rather than making us resort to manual line breaks.

Player name, not character name.
Thank you, yes, player name. An option to leave the player name blank could also be useful, perhaps when using pre-gens at a convention. This would allow new players to fill in their name in a blank field.
How do people not know what they're getting when they subscribe? It says exactly what you get when you go to sign up for a subscription, in both a table and a regular description.
Another suggestion which might've already been mentioned but I'd love some way to track Hero Points. It's a variant rule in the DMG but I use it a lot for my games so it'd be nice if players could have a way to track it.

First, the current application is good. It's just not great yet. I can see from other posts you are continuing development so I'm looking forward to seeing it in the future.
My biggest beef is that the exported sheet is somewhat lacking. Skills are listed by title but no explanation or detail given. The better solutions I've seen in the past, including the one that just got shut down (not going to argue the IP issues), give enough detail so that the user needs no recourse to the books 90% of the time to reference what their character can do. I think this should be your goal.

Anyway, good luck with the further development.
PDF revamp is one of the big things that is coming up.
Awesome. One other thing... for the online app, a built in dice roller linked to each ability roll, similar to Fantasy Grounds, would be really cool. As long as I'm shooting for the moon...

That’s great to hear. What’s your source?
Export to PDF not working now. Had worked in the past.
seems to be working now.

D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
