Maps and player icons are actually not a necessity for playing D&D. You need the books and a character sheet. Everything else is helpful but not necessary. D&D is an imagination based game, the maps and icons help with some battles, but, again, not necessary.
So this site does grant everything to play D&D - even for free. And has extra options and offers the option to buy more things to help like more character options, the official books, and even some tactical maps you can print out.
The site even has a free discord server with a dice-rolling bot that can link to your accounts and character sheets for online play.
Not really sure what your complaint is.

Yeah I know it wasn't advertised but give me a break, it is the sort of thing that should be included--the organization features are considerably less useful when we also have to use an entirely different service just for 'VTT' as you call it.. this is a feedback forum. if that frightens you, stay out of it.
All map making tools currently on the market are stand alone tools; wonderdraft, inkarnate etc. No online toolsets, roll20, foundry, fantasy grounds, offer map making tools. At best they offer map hosting tools.

I know what you mean.
My bike can't conveniently carry a 4x8 piece of plywood. I mean, I know it wasn't advertised as a cargo carrier, but it would be way better if I didn't have to use a so-called 'truck' to carry plywood.
And don't get me started on clothes dryers! Why shouldn't I be able to tumble dry my dishes?

Give you a break on what? It's not the job of D&D Beyond to meet your specific expectations. This site is everything it is advertising to be and includes everything necessary to play D&D and more besides. They are not "supposed" to offer anything more. You wanted something the site does not currently offer. Now, if you had gone "hey, does this offer a mapmaking tool or VTT and if not are there plans to add one?" Or perhaps just "Would be better if it has maps/VTT" then absolutely fine, great feedback. But you didn't - you said it makes you rage that it doesn't already have it and you have to open an entirely different service to play online. This isn't phrased like a request but rather a complaint that it doesn't have what you wanted, combined with a statement that you "have to" use something else to play online. This isn't quite correct, there are people playing online using just D&D beyond in a forum version, some use the discord server and others may use webcam services like Skype. My post was to point out that this site is not supposed to have everything you specifically need and that you are wrong that people must use a separate service to play online.
I will also point out this site was never really intended to be everything needed for games and certainly not focused on online games. The idea and focus was an alternative to paper character sheets while at the table for in-person games. It has decided to branch out to offer more tools like encounter builders for DMs, discord servers with dice-rolling bot for online play, and will eventually work on a VTT. These were never intended from the get-go and they only started branching out thanks to the success they have had.
If you want a service that was intended for Online games try Roll20.net - which is a VTT service that is free to use and includes a digital character sheet. It seems that is more of what you were expecting.
If you are unhappy with responses that do not agree with you (as you seem to be), I do not recommend posting in online public forums and your feedback would be better directed as private messages to the staff or through using the Contact Us link found on every page.
My posts are what they are because you posed a complaint based on inaccurate statements and unfounded expectation. If you were making a simple request or enquiry my reactions to you would be considerably different. I will clarify, neither that post nor this post were intended with any hostility - just an attempt to correct and explain.

I was polite the first time around and answered your question succinctly. Now you need to shut your mouth and sit down keyboard warrior. D&D Beyond is not, has never been, and was never advertised as an online digital table. It was your own stupidity and assumptions that brought you to that conclusion.

Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
I've got the perfect campaign
Some players that are cool
But DND Beyond has no player icons
And not even a map tool
I open up the webpage
Then realize I need to open up another entire system to play online
It's enough to make me rage
that dnd beyond is missing all this junk.
D&D Beyond is not a VTT and has never been advertised as such. It's a digital tool for use at the table.

A VTT is planned to be added in the distant future though, so look forward to that.

Let's can down with the personal attacks and hostile language. That isn't going to take anything anywhere productive
