Tip: make campaigns named Folder: <category> such as, for example : Folder: Character Ideas.
Then add the relevant character to those campaigns.
Make it a habit to go to your Campaigns rather than your Characters to access the campaigns and all the Folder campaigns will be together, acting like folders and those not named Folder are real campaigns.

Bringing this back up because it's the one thing I can think of that would greatly improve the usefulness and versatility of this website. As both a player and a DM, I hate having all my NPCs and PCs mashed together, especially when I've created multiple campaigns and different regions within my campaign worlds. I would love to be able to put all the high priests of my main city in one folder, separate from the urchins and other colorful denizens of the streets.

How do you add a preexisting NPC to a campaign? I can't seem to figure that part out.

If you've built the NPC the same way as a PC then you add them the same way as a PC. If you've built the NPC as a monster statblock, you cannot add them to a campaign. You could create a character named NPC and add the NPCs under the Extras tab of that character sheet.

Okay, maybe I'm missing something, but the only way I've ever known to add a PC to a campaign is either to create an Unclaimed PC or send an invite link to a player. Is there another way to take a pre-existing PC I created and add it to my own campaign?

I'm a DM and I pay you money for having unlimited characters which is great. Now PLEASE I beg you give me an easy way to separate my PCs from my NPCs. PLEASE.
Want to push this thread. Folders for characters would be fantastic!
I would love to organize the NPC character sheets I make by campaign, without letting my players know. Also, I would love to have a folder reserved for the PCs I aspire to play one day.
This function would be invaluable considering the "unlimited" amount of characters I could be making.
Just bumping this hoping it brings some attention back to the issue! As a DM of multiple campaigns and a player of others, I've got 100+ combined NPC and Character sheets, would really love to be able to file them somehow into groups!!
Just adding my "please" to this topic. I'm not a DM (yet) but already my character ideas are spilling over, so to speak. I'd also love to be able to mark a "main" PC which would always be displayed at the top of the screen, so you could go straight to them from wherever.
I would also like to thank the DDB team for all the hard work they obviously put into this amazing service! Keep it up! <3
I have 90+ characters, some my own, some from my players who only have a free account but more than 6 characters , some npcs and all from 3-4 different campaigns.
It is sooo painful finding stuff. Folders , Favorites etc. is an absolute must for me.
I have plenty of characters that belong to different groups and some that are just my own test characters, and it would be amazing to be able to separate them with a native feature.
Agreed with extreme prejudice. This has to happen, and it's a wonder why we haven't seen it implemented yet. Also just wanted to keep the thread relevant before 1 month of nothing posted.

Gruumsh has one eye. The left half of a bull also has one eye. A bull's eye is something you'd find in a science lab. Saline solution is also something you'd find in a science lab. Saline solution is just a fancy word for brine. Brine is seawater. Therefore, Gruumsh One-Eye is the left half of a sea god. Q.E.D.!
I was just thinking of this. I am happy to see that this was something others want as well. I think even being able to organize the characters by class would be a big help. When you get past your first 100 characters, the scroll wheel starts to smoke.

That looks Awesome!
I would also like to see a sort by "species/race" and sort by "class" please!
+1 this!
There are "work arounds" but would rather have the feature. :-)

Thank you so much for the tip! This is already making my new campaign the best organized one I've ever run.

Even though this is over 3 years old now, I believe it would be a great addition and I see no reason as to why it hasn't been added.

Folders needed. Pretty simple content management setup. I have characters that are NPC's vs Retired vs Elves vs Gnomes vs 1st level vs 5th level... .
