Hello! I like to run a slightly homebrew version of the weapons list. For example, a greataxe deals 1d8 + 1d4 damage instead of 1d12. I can remind my players every time because I know my list well, but I can't force Beyond to display 1d8 + 1d4. My morningstars deal 2d4... my mauls deal 1d12... almost every weapon is custom.
I'm requesting for a simple quality of life feature : being able to override the weapon's damage dice, and enter whatever we want manually. It's just so that the player has the right dice displayed on his sheet ; it's fine by me if the dice roller can't roll them. I'd like to be able to write "3d48 + your gold piece count" if I want. But just 1d8 + 1d4 would be a great start! :)
Needs more than just damage dice change. (Although this is a biggie.)
I just spent 4 hours trying to write up the three-kreen Chatkcha- which is essentially just a martial thrown (not melee) version of the handaxe, with the range of a javelin. Finally, I gave up.
You can adjust range multipliers, but not set specific ranges. You can ignore some default weapon features, but not all. You can't even distinguish between a martial & simple weapon.
What they really need is for the create from scratch button to allow you to actually create from scratch.

François, game master.
Yeah, a lot of people have asked for this. It is planned. May not happen until homebrew tools get an update though.

Homebrew base weapons is something that's on the long term roadmap

This is in fact what is planned.
any update on this? I just want to make a special mace that uses 2d4 instead of 1d6 for example.
They never give updates outside of the Dev Updates, and they almost never give ETAs on anything.

Usually, the first real “update” we get is when we can suddenly do something we couldn’t do before.

ok but like how long term, because we're closing in on 5 years now.
Very.
Like they pretty much only tell us what is worked on now and what is next. Homebrew changes are neither.
