Probably a niche thing, but the ability to choose different dice sets for individual characters. Many people already have character specific dice sets physically, so it would be nice to be able to do this digitally. The ability for people to have dice that fit the character without having to change it in the menu each time would be very useful. It would also make people probably buy more digital dice, because it may fit their character. It would also be nice with a shared account, allowing different people to use different dice sets for characters rather than all of them using whatever was most recently selected.
Let us choose dice for each character sheet just like the themes, the dice as they are are underutilized.
It is not permissible under the TOS to have a "shared account", so that point is not relevant.
That said, they haven't even fixed the bug where choosing whether to use dice for a specific character at all, affects all the other characters.
So if my partner wanted to play, she couldn't use my account to create a character?
No, this is a violation of both D&D Beyonds terms of service, as well as the TOS of all the login providers DDB uses (Apple, Twitch, Google, and Wizards)
That's dumb.
No, it's not, it's standard legal practice for accounts and liability. Almost every single service you sign up for will included in their ToS that you will not share your account with other people. It's your account, it's meant to represents your—and exclusively yours—presence and interaction with the site. It is your responsibility to keep your account secure and that includes not sharing it with anyone. This has been part of online accounts for decades now

Your partner can use her own account to create a character for free, with up to 6 of them before they have to subscribe.
they should atleast include a setting for people who want the old ui in my opinion and several others
I completely agree!
Also, making it so that people can choose where their default sources for character creation are 2014 or 2024 (right now it is 2024 by default, and you have to change it each time).

NGL I was going nuts reading the first part of this thread not realizing it was from 2017 lmao. I was like.... all these features ARE in DnD Beyond??? Lol. What I want:
The encounter creator to FINALLY come out of Beta
The encounter creator to link to sheets and display Initiative publicly (hiding health and names as options)
DnDB to stop crashing on certain homebrew stat blocks. No idea what triggers it. Sometimes when i use the encounter creator my stat blocks I make are perfectly fine. Then on others, it links me to a dead page if I click on them in the creator.
An easier designed and explained method of creating magic items. I've now learned how to make items that gives +X's to attacks, spells, charges, etc. but the way it is now is VERY unintuitive. It should be made in a way that's easier to use.
Sort of related, an easier way to drag and drop Spells into a stat block. Instead of having to type [spell] fireball [spell] every f****** time, it would be amazing to have a searchable box for spells to drag and drop. (removed the / to show the actual text)

I'm afraid they've already abandoned the encounter builder, they've said that they intend for people to use the tools within Maps going forward. Doesn't really make sense for anyone who doesn't use maps as their VTT, or don't use a VTT at all, but I guess they hope they can force people into using it.

have they directly said anything along the lines of actually abandoning the encounter creator? Please link if so. Would be pretty dumb to dump it as its by far the easiest method of tracking everything during combat compared to manually writing/typing everything out...

It has been said om some other posts that the encounter builder will remain only for 2014 5e and that 2024 encounters should be made in maps.
Yea I saw those posts which are by random DnDB users. Not DnDB staff. If the staff had said as much then RIP but otherwise I will at least hope that we will see some kind of update.
I use the encounter builder all the time, as a DM it's invaluable to me and one of the main reasons I use D&D Beyond. I would really like to see a filter in the encounter builder when searching for monsters that automatically filters out content I don't own. I've tried selecting what I own individually from the sources filter and checking the "remember my filters" box, but D&D Beyond never remembers my filters and it's such a chore to do that over and over. Thanks!
When making homebrew items and monsters, everything should be on ONE PAGE. I have no idea why you have to navigate to a new page to edit movement speeds or other modifiers. I've lost so much work from editing attacks and abilities to then go to edit movement and have it all erased because I didn't click Save (which reloads the page), then click Movement (which goes to a new page) then click save again. This really shouldn't be that tedious.

THIS!! This has got to be one of the most requested features for the site, and the fact that it is not yet implemented after years is almost criminal.

It's intentional, because WotC's goal with D&D Beyond is to sell you more content. It hasn't been out of the goodness of their own heart that they spend X millions running a website. They're showing you "what you're missing out on" to get you to buy it. I found it more surprising that they added it to the VTT.
I really, really want to have homebrew classes! I think its been said since 2017 that this will be happening... we nearly reached 2026- I hope this will happen (soon)
Labels for things that they know don't work, so people don't use them thinking it's right. And for the love of everything, improve the search. Most things are unsearchable because they only tagged the old books.

Allow us to save our map settings(mob locations, fog of war etc) to the Homebrew section. This would turn every official map into a quickmap.

I'd like to see Deep Magic 1 & 2 from Kobold Press. There are a ton of great spells I would Love to be able to use.

What I can never have, support for older versions of the game. It would be an absolutely monumental task that wouldn't drive sales unfortunately.
