I was messing around one day when something clicked in my head: aren't the Revenants in Doom just Reborn Humans? That sent me down a rabbit hole, because then I thought "What are the stats on that?" And then it occurred to me that Doom Revenants are just big skeletons with rocket launchers, and Reborn can be described as skeletal and the "rocket launcher class" is basically the Artillerist Artificer. All you need to do is say that the Arcane Cannon is a shoulder cannon, and presto!
A Doom Revenant as a D&D character! A Reborn Artillerist Artificer to be exact.
After that, I got the itch to create. Now I'm looking through the books and across the net trying to figure out how to design the other demons as characters.
I have a few broad ideas already.
The variant flying Tiefling can be reflavored as a serviceable Cacodemon if the right class options are chosen.
A Hell Knight looks enough like a very ugly and incredibly angry Goliath.
Barons of Hell and Tyrants/Cyberdemons have a more than passing resemblance to Minotaurs.
Is this all just crazy or am I onto something? Please share your thoughts.
I suppose you could try to make them into pc races but honestly if I wanted to incorporate doom demons into a game I'd just make them homebrew monsters instead of trying to fit them into preexisting races.
I had a mad thought.

Making them into races wasn't what I had in mind.
I was really thinking about using the demons as inspiration for characters.
Like I pointed out with the Revenant example, there are ways to translate the demons into characters with what's already available.
