I am aware that this is specifically not a VTT, that is not what I plan to ask about in this thread. I am not a tech wiz by any means, so I thought I would ask any who are. How difficult would it be, once the Character builder went live, to make it portable to something like Roll20? It would probably require talks between Curse and Roll20, but it would be cool to just be able to put a link from your sheet on DnDB into a box on Roll20, and have it automagically copied over.
Does this seem reasonably possible, or is it just a pipe dream?
I never used Roll20, but if you're able to plop a pdf in there, I don't think you'll have a problem with printing to xml (whatever you have on the screen) and plopping it into Roll20.
You could just copy things over it's not like 5e sheets are complex or you could just use the Roll20 sheets they are already autofill for most things so you don't really need a diffirent character builder.
Also an integration with Fantasy Grounds could be a real time saver.

He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.

I don't think that integration with roll20 is too likely. DDB is owned by owned by a behemoth, and traditionally it's bad business to have people leave your ecosystem. It's far more likely that they will delve into vtt either through beyond or another twitch integration. There is no way Amazon/Twitch is going to dump development dollars into a system that sends you to someone else.

However, the more integration we get, the better!

From what the devs have said, this appears to be one of the end goals. Would love to see integration with Roll20.

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of
Ditto with Roll20. Not every one of us uses Fantasy Grounds. Just say no to "Exclusivity," Wizards.

Is this the most current rumor?

roll for integration: 10
I don't personally use roll20 but I would like to see ddb campaigns, maps and characters be portable nonetheless.
A caffeinated nerd who has played TTRPGs or a number of years and is very much a fantasy adventure geek.
I would find it reasonable to expect the D&D Mobile app to continue growing with features. ; )
