I haven't, but I'm looking forward to taking it as a Warlock in Waterdeep: Dragonheist. With Mask of Many Faces (disguise self at will) it seems really awesome. I expect if you're doing a roleplay heavy campaign, it's great. More dungeon crawl/hack and slash not so much
I have. Advantage on deception and persuasion is crazy, especially when almost anything not in a highly stressful, like mid combat, situation can be called acting. The key is it says acting and not a performance. Acting can be anything.
"When trying to pass yourself off as a different person." Which seems to me like it means you have advantage for the act itself, for say, impersonating the king's advisor, but you wouldn't then also have advantage in every persuasion deception check you make as part of that roll, just checks related to tricking others. Though I suppose that's up to the DM.
The features part of it only really came up once with my Drow Bard, but it worked AWESOME in combination with Hat of Disguise and Tongues when we infiltrated the Sahuagin compound
Back when that was the ONLY feat that allowed you to raise Charisma by a +1, as soon as good feats were added that allowed that +1 I think everyone stopped using it.
I took it on an Eloquence Bard with Mask of Many Faces from Warlock as well. It would have been fun, if my DM at the time had any encounters that could be interacted with socially. It was 80% combat and 20% exploration. In another campaign though, with a more balanced mix? That might be the only character I’ll ever reuse. Actor just gets better the more Deception abilities you stack, so go crazy with it. It’s a cool feat, especially for Warlocks and Bards.
Nope, but I kinda wouldn't mind having it on one of my current characters. However we haven't really gotten into a situation it would be useful and so I don't want to waste an ASI on it (DM is using milestone, bleh. And I'm a caster, so I need them ASIs for war caster, extra spells, and skill stuffs (rolled well on my stats, so I already got my WIS maxed)). It'd just fit her theme to have it as she's a cleric of Loki, but not important enough to actually be worth taking. It'd honestly likely be a waste.

Hollow unbreakable arrows are the most OP common magic item, and my current method of coming up with insane combat shenanigans.
if you make a steel pipe with one end closed and a nozzle on the other, you can enlarge it, fill with any liquid, and then drop concentration, creating a high pressure squirt gun. (or a pipe bomb, depending if it holds)
I used it on a GOOlock with pact of the chain imp familiar + voice of the chain master invocation. I could see, hear, and speak through my imp, who could go invisible. I would eavesdrop on conversations while invisible to "collect" people's voices and then when I needed it I could speak through my invisible imp and bait people into traps by pretending to be their friend, etc. Since I was a GOOlock I also had telepathy and would pretend to be a priest's god to get them to do what I wanted or just corrupt their faith because my character was evil. It was a fun build but it eventually became the answer to every social encounter and got pretty stale. Fortunately, the social aspect wasn't very large in the campaign I was playing.
I took the feat as a Goblin Bard at a time before I had anything other than the PHB (I found the goblin stats online at the time), when I had an odd number in CHA and wanted to round out my stats, and I didn't have any other odd numbers so I went for the feat. I didn't think it would come up much, but honestly once I had it I was constantly looking for ways to use it. Either shouting out in someone else's voice if I was in danger, or building a second persona to play off of. There was a very long, extended period of time where I posed as "Jareth, the Goblin King", the king of a made-up Kingdom I called the Under-Labyrinth somewhere deep in the Underdark. Since so much of the Underdark isn't well-recorded by surface kingdoms, I managed to successfully bluff my way into several Royal events that a goblin normally wouldn't be let within 100 feet of.
Have you ever used the Actor feat from the PHB. I haven't, and I had to look it up again to remember what it does.
Cha +1. You get advantage on Deception and Performance while acting. You also get to pretend to be a Kenku.
