Probably a dumb question, but what is the point of being able to Equip Ammunition (Arrows, bolts etc) when it doesn't add the damage bonus to the damage rolls?
Am I missing something obvious? Or is this simply something that hasn't been finished yet?
My guess is that it serves as a reminder what ammunition you are using (in the example, you have a reminder that you are currently using your +2 arrow).
Or maybe it was planned to modify a weapon damage at one point but got put on the back burner/dev team realized it was not possible with the current system.
Some vtt’s such as Roll20 have a resource tracking feature which will automatically decrement things like ammo each time you attack with a bow, or spell slots when you cast a spell. Dndbeyond don’t have anything like that but it is possible that they might have planned it in the past. It could also make an appearance on the new vtt they are designing.
Mainly for you to keep track at this stage I reckon.
Adding the functionality isn't necessarily super simple. E.g. what happens when you turn on two types of ammunition? Each type of ammunition would need to be linked to certain items (e.g. arrows to bows - including the magical ones that don't produce their own ammo, bolt for crossbows, bullets to slings) - so maybe we will see it one day.

Left D&D for Pathfinder a second time.

Maybe it was a feature that when you used a missile or thrown weapon it would reduce that from your equipment.
A problem might be some people let you buy arrows once and then you have an unlimited supply and others require you to mark them off as you use them.
