So I'm just wondering what the communities' favorite D&D 5E races are, and why you like them. My personal favorite is the Goblin, feisty little fellows.

Are you including eladrin in elves?

I've always really liked playing Dragonborn, because I love being a scary dragon-man who breathes fire. But I want to try out a Changeling, Lizardfolk and Bugbear sometime soon too.
Edit: Tweaked wording/fixed grammar issues but still said effectively the same thing.
Dwarves. They're short, they smith, they're comically bearded, in some myths they eat rocks. What's not to love? Lord Minimus would have called himself a dwarf, and that guy is Historical Gold!
I mean my favourite race is the Kor, but they were released in the Planescape packet about Zendikar made by WotC's Magic team and not WotC's D&D team, but if I need to pick something official, it's Dwarves.
One day I want to play characters for all different Elf-subraces, already got thought up some for High & Woodelves, Drow, Eladrin, a Seaelf and an Avariel. Only subrace I haven't been able to come with a chara so far, is Shadar-kai. Probably because imagining a chara who doesn't have/show emotions is very hard for me.
Probably a four way tie between humans, dwarfs, goliaths and tortles

“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbithole, and that means comfort.”
I voted Elf, because I love eladrin. Literally all of their abilities just speak to me for some reason. But my very close runner-ups would probably be: Changeling, Genasi, Goliath, Half-Elf, Kobold, Lizardfolk, Owlin, Tiefling, aaand Warforged.

I don’t have a favourite. I just use whatever match’s the character I’m making. If I had to choose I’d say Tabaxi though as I’ve used it a lot more than any other race and because I love cats.
Kobolds are the greatest race for soooo many reasons, the primary one being that they get no love from official content creators. I truly don't understand why they have never been included in the basic rules as a player race. They are POPULAR! How can you not love these tiny, cowardly, paradoxically inferior dragon people? Artists certainly do, and If you look on pinterest you can find literally hundreds kobold drawings, paintings, etc. Only elves and humans have a stronger presence.
Why don't I like Dragonborn? Rediculous, stupid, horrible name... Unplayable for me becuase of their name alone. I realize D&D introduced the name and Bethesda probably stole it but it still sounds like a bad Skyrim reference to me.

I prefer Dhampir. If you use a Dhampir rouge's sneak attack the regeneration is insane.
Quokkas are objectively the best animal, anyone who disagrees needs a psychiatric evaluation

Dwarves. I've always loved Dwarves in any stories. It's all about the personality for me.

BoringBard's long and tedious posts somehow manage to enrapture audiences. How? Because he used Charm Person, the #1 bard spell!
He/him pronouns. Call me Bard. PROUD NERD!

Elves.
All of them, I just really love Elves. xD

Half-Elf and Tiefling, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Half-Elf.
I get to be a normal-looking race without the grief that comes with playing a boring human :))
Dwarves are cool too.
In general I prefer more human-looking races to weird scalies and furries. The being said, one of my backup characters is a bald Tabaxi.

What would the bald Tabaxi even look like? I'm imagining it and it sounds like nightmare fuel.

Characters (Links!):
Faelin Nighthollow - 7th Sojourn
Elves are amazing but I also like some of the Ravenloft lineages too. And the genasi.
I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).

I love Tabaxi and Tritons. No real reason, just the flavor of the two races.
