I have never played an artificer before and i noticed they are able to make 1st level spellwrought tattoos.
At level 2, artificers are able to infuse up to 2 items, but since tattoos are consumable, does that mean after i use it i free up the slot and are able to infuse another item or even replicate more magic items? Is there any limitation on how many infused items can i make other than the previously mentioned having 2 active at a time?
You can only change around your infused items at the end of a long rest.
How this would work with a Spellwrought Tattoo is that you choose "Replicate Magic Item" as one of your infusions known, subselecting Spellwrought Tattoo. Then, you would touch the appropriate item (a needle) to infuse it. Once the tattoo is applied via the needle, the needle ceases to be magical, but because you already infused it at the end of your long rest, you would have to wait until your next long rest to infuse another needle.
If you want multiple tattoos per long rest, you would need to select Replicate Magic Item->Spellwrought Tattoo using multiple infusion slots.
thank you, also if i may, on the subject of making the tattoo, how do you determine what spell goes into it? do you just get to pick any spell at the moment you create it? does it have to be a spell that you know? is it random?

There are no rules for this; ask your DM. (That's also the most compelling reason for why spellwrought tattoo infusions may not be RAI.)
Honestly I feel like spellwrought tattoos should be excluded from Replicate Magic Item. They're functionally scrolls, which themselves are specifically proscribed from being created by the feature. Letting the common spellwrought tattoos through seems like an oversight when they were writing out the feature.

That’s part of why I ruled it has to be a spell you know, just like scrolls.
I've both played & DM'd artificers with spellwrought tattoos. People always freak out of them online, but they work really well - specially if the character leans into being a tattoo artist. There's a few homebrew subclasses out there, some better than others, but none that I've seen are totally broken simply because of the limits of infusions
