You want a VTT. Virtual Table Top. My group uses owlbear.rodeo. You import a map, cover it with fog, and reveal the map as PCs move through. I have a laptop with the DM version, and the players move their tokens using their devices (phones, tablets, or laptops). One of the players also casts the map to a TV.
We also use DnDBeyond for character sheets. Some of my players use physical dice, other roll with the digital dice.
As the DM, I also use the DnDBeyond encounter builder and combat tracker.
I use DungeonFog to make a map then I bring it into Roll20 where I can add the walls and lighting and test for any gaps in the walls and doors. In your scenario, you could have it set up as one player with control of all of the characters so that all players could share one device.

Newbie DM here just playing with my family.
I’m looking for software / an app / combination of apps that can do the following:
- Create a dungeon map that only reveals rooms as I decide.
- I can have a view of the whole map on my iPad / PC and the players can only see the areas revealed on the ‘big iPad’.
- The players can move their tokens on the ‘big iPad’.
I’ve tried DungeonFog but it seems a bit glitchy even using their recommended browsers.
We prefer doing dice rolls / player stat tracking old school so it’s really just about the map.
Any suggestions?
Owlbear rodeo might be worth exploring
