For me personally it's the sorcerer. Some many of the mechanics of the Sorcerer feels like weird versions of regular magic. I don't really like Wild Magic, and it is very prevalent in this version of a sorcerer. It feels so strange, and weird to play a Sorcerer after playing any other magic class. While other magic classes require you to be strategic on your spellcasting. Sorcerers feels like your throwing spells, and creating chaos for the sake of it.
I don't mind Sorcerers, but it just seems like wild fun which is super strange to me.
What are your opinions though? DND seems to have a large amount of really good and interesting classes, and it's definitely one of the reasons I got into the game in the first place. I wonder why some classes don't shine as much though, in your opinions.
You know that Wild Magic is just one subclass for Sorcerer, right? If you don't want to play a character that's somewhat chaotic, maybe choose a different one.

I play a divine soul sorcerer and like it (You even get the cleric spell list). I also like my Wizard/Evoker and my stars druid.
least favorite class? No plans on trying a warlock or artificer or bard or non spellcaster....just not for me. I didn't enjoy paladin or ranger much in one shots. I played a life cleric once in a 6 shot and was bored but I think that's just the subclass....I may try Twilight another time.

Monk. Just can't find a monk build that I actually like. Never really cared for the class in any edition.
Try the Way of the Kensei monk, that’s the one I ended up liking. You can use longswords, longbows and the like. You know, the types of weapons that make up 95% of all the good magic items, that the monk normally wiffs out on.
Deft strike is great for trigger ki fueled attacks, so you go hack with the longsword, (1d10 damage dice with 2 hands) then punch, then bonus action attack with longsword again, throw in some stuns as desired, then agile parry.
I didn’t think I liked the monk either until trying that.
The 1e Oriental Adventures Monk is the best version I have seen.

For me it's definitely artificer. The lone subclass that I find mildly interesting (alchemist) is poorly implemented in my opinion. I can understand someone being excited to play an artificer in a campaign like Eberron where the technology angle seems a good fit, but that is not my kind of high fantasy as a player.

That's fair. I always felt like it should be more like an enchanter that makes magical item and stuff, but it does tend to appear a bit more sci-fi then I would expect from a DND class

This approach to an artificer class I would personally like. No doubt plenty of people love it as it exists today, artificer is just not of any interest to me as-is.
Rogue for me. I tried, but I don't like the class and the subclasses are just not that interesting to me (swashbuckler is alright). To me, the rogue is just a shitty bard. I said what I said!
If we're counting it, my least favorite is definitely Blood Hunter. There are so many different factors stacked against anyone who wants to play one, it's ridiculous. Plus, the flavor is specific enough that I'd say it'd be better as a Fighter or Ranger subclass.

That's a good callout. I played a lycan BH and while powerful, it took three full rounds to build up steam due to competing features with action economy. I will say though that once I hit round three, it was pretty fun to play.
Probably monks, they're cool, but I'm not a big fan of them, and I tend to love spellcasting and don't know how to really play a monk. Monk is my best friend's fav class, and he's great at playing them, I'm just sadly not.

Wizard. They’re the only caster that can’t heal. Hardly any class features. I don’t really care for the spell list. Rather than a lot of utility, I get analysis paralysis and end up sticking with the same spell load out 99% of the time anyway. If I’m gonna do that, I feel like a sorcerer is more fun because of their class features. Yay for metamagic! I’m also pretty sure my DM would be pretty displeased if I ever brushed off any of the wizard’s best gimmicks. While strictly legal, many of them test the spirit of cooperative gameplay IMHO.
Um... Warlock? Sorcerer? I mean, I guess they both have subclasses that can heal, but I wouldn't really count that.

Food, Scifi/fantasy, anime, DND 5E and OSR geek.
Mine is warlocks, just not a fan of the flavor.
I didn’t see what you did there.
Monk. Just can't find a monk build that I actually like. Never really cared for the class in any edition.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Imma be that cranky old 1e old timer and say all of them.
However...
i also created a bunch of classes that I do like and we use those, and I doubt anyone woud like the if they weren't playing in my game, sooo
even?
EDit: oops, forgot the "why".
Archetypes are gone. Distinction is gone. Multi-classing is out of control.
Um, hold on, let me google some more old timer player complaints...
Um, "super hero"? (Given my classes, that is... nah, I can' say that with a straight face)
Ah hell, what do I know, I only ever DM, lol.

Bard. Mechanically it’s really good. Flavor wise not my cup of spell caster.
Bard.
Nothing in this class resonates with me from a flavor point of view. Also, I have never been a fan of bards being full casters.
