Honestly, I'm not expecting a ton from crafting and that's a good thing. Crafting in games is typically either a part of a production cycle- which is not something D&D or TTRPG's in general are set up to support, or one of the ways to continually improve gear as you level up- which is also not a part of 5e's model. Plus acquiring and tracking components is a lot of bookkeeping on both ends for a pen and paper game as opposed to something computerized. And magic items are supposed to be accessible only at the DM's discretion, so while people can quibble about the exact sequence of gold, time, and materials from the XGtE bit, not only does a more recipe based format run into some of the same bookkeeping issues as above, but also moves some of the initiative out of the DM's hands.
It'll be good if you don't need a million sourcebooks.

Haiiiiii, I’m Druid! (he/they/it/moth/fae/star) I'm a smol insane queer lil' mess with a terrible mental state! I'm also a therian and furry :3 My current obsessions are The Amazing Digital Circus and Hazbin Hotel, so if you ever wanna chat about that, I'm always happy to! GIVE ME YOUR MONSTER.

more content is always amazing though i doubt with such amounts it would be balanced, no way wotc woudln't screw up accidentaly, but it's not world ending issue anyway
Epic Boons got nixed (at least as a level 20 option). I'm not sure if they are still going to appear in the 2024 PHB or DMG.
I really hope they don't. I would prefer more Feats to choose from during the bulk of the game, not just at the very end (if you even make it that far).

"Balance" is always more an ideal than a reality outside of something where the numbers are easy to control and occur in large enough quantities to smooth out the peaks and valleys of RNG.
