I've managed to muddle through several homebrew creation (personal only) however. I wish there was some documentation to use the homebrew system. We've got quite a few folks here has anybody written anything up to explain the system.
The only public documentation released is the Tutorial/FAQ here on the forums. This is something I have wanted to do for a while, but haven't had the time to sit down and start writing it up. There are a lot of little nuances that are not covered and some things function differently from what you might expect. There are also some tricks you can use to get a homebrew creation to approximate what you're trying to do that isn't supported out of the box - like creating a monk subclass that gave a player in my campaign the Pugilist class abilities in his sheet. Sidenote, the actions section added in the revamp made this much easier for the player to be able to see what they needed to.
It's been mentioned by the devs that homebrew is on the list to get reviewed and updated, so perhaps it's something we can work on as a community once the changes come. I would very much like to see a new homebrew wishlist thread opened to start collecting ideas for what the community would like to see in the update.
The lack of documentation certainly makes things more difficult than they could be, I totally agree - it's why I wrote that post (and the video that followed).
I've considered making some further videos and posts, but as you say, the homebrew solution will be changing - we don't have a timeline on that currently though.

In case it wasn’t obvious Storm, I think the guides you wrote are a great introduction to the system and I used them to teach myself more about it. I appreciate the time you put into them and hope you didn’t take my last post as disparaging them or complaining.
Once the revamp goes live, I would be interested in helping write up a new, comprehensive guide. There’s a lot to cover so it seems like a “many hands” type of situation.
Since it’s been mentioned, do you expect there to be a thread opening soon to collect ideas?
Also, OP if you’re trying to achieve a certain effect you can always ask. People are pretty friendly around here and do their best to respond with a solution.
I would also love seeing some tutorials on this. Having difficulties with implementing drop down choices for my subclass. Makes me thankful for good ole paper character sheets haha.
Most quoted saying about programming, a program is useless without documentation. "Hey Jim, I've got this neat program". How you use it? "I don't know?"

Or is there a wiki anywhere for DnD beyond.
