Sorry for the multiple posts, just wanted to share some art from the DMG that I saw else where.
Really triggering my nostalgia there. I know the cartoon was always built on the hope of the kids going home but middle age me is finding it strangely comforting that they're still out there being heroes

I have always said that if I were some how transported to a magical realm and basically given super powers, getting back to Earth would be pretty low on the list of things to accomplish lol.

If Dungeon Master could zap me a better fitness level so I don't get eaten by the first monster I encounter I know exactly what you mean
Really happy that they're decoupling things like flame tongue from specific weapons and ammunition. I've been giving villains flame tongue morningstars forever, and it'll be nice to be able to do that easily within DDB when making the stat block for the NPC - and easier for the players to add the magic items to their inventory.
lol Greyhawk - every time we think it has finally died, it just keeps coming back (and then quickly dies off again because the Forgotten Realms is simply MUCH more popular). Yet for some reason, someone somewhere keeps trying to resurrect it. There's only so many times a body can be brought back as undead.
I like how so much of this video is spent trying to justify WHY Greyhawk is included (almost a quarter of the video). There are many reasons it went away, but the most important was that The Forgotten Realms was simply more popular (yes there were other reasons as well). I've DM'd for over 40 years, and I only know of ONE person who still uses Greyhawk, and every time he does his players complain about it. There's easily 100 times more published content from fantasy novels to adventures to video games available for The Realms, as people over the years voted for the Realms with their pocket books.
Ya that would be awesome if that was the case. That would align with the PHB early releases too. Do you remember where you heard that from? I did search dndbeyond for information but I didn't find anything confirming that.

Earth is a world within the same multiverse as Greyhawk, Oerth, Toril, Eberron, etc. Means they could potentially get home and go back whenever if they get strong enough.

We have 10 years of Forgotten Realms content that isn't negated by the new books. Just as we got a Dragonlance book, this is just another setting that players and DMs can use. I think it's a good thing to give a different world some focus.
Do we know if there are rules for downtime training in the new DMG? There’s nothing about learning new skills, tools or languages (as far as I’ve found so far) in the PHB.

The "DM's Tool Box" chapter may have it. I am liking what we have heard about the DMG thus far, but they have been vague about what is in the book beyond some very specific information.

Thanks. The Tool Box does sound like the most likely place for that.

I am very excited to dig through the book and the Tool Box is the place I am likely start at this point.
Excited to get my hands on it …. Wait … my physical PHB was cancelled from my pre order bundle … won’t hold my breath on the physical DMG actually showing up. Been over 1 week since last CS response to PHB issue even with copies of emails and screenshots sent still haven’t heard why my physical was cancelled and not delivered. Not going to buy unless I get credited the same bundles discount I missed out on.

Note that Bigby started off as an Evil NPC and Mordenkainen helped him become good.

Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
Any idea if this will get a FLGS early release like the PHB?
I heard that it will hit game shops on the 29th

Wonder if this release will be delayed to APAC region like the PHB was...
