That’s not how liars dice work basically after you hit a target you got to declare that you will hide your damage dice and once it’s rolled, you see a number if DM accept it it’s the number you declare it is if he challenges you and you lied you do half the damage you dealt if you were telling the truth you double it and I say yes it does slow down it cause I’m personally playing a high roller but some instances you gotta do some eye damage. This class is basically high risk high reward do more damage or no damage and I don’t think lawyers dice is a band the skill you’re basically removing it’s only a core function because everything basically relies on where I can be your highest damage dealer weakest one depends on the person I say it’s a good skill

No.
I've played a game with Liar's Dice, and it is really fun and doesn't slow things down. The player just says they're rolling in secret, rolls the die, announces the roll, and the DM says if they accept it or not. It takes maybe 10 seconds longer than a normal roll. I agree that it makes zero sense in-world, but D&D is a game.
I do agree it takes like 10 seconds and I love this sub class. It’s tied for First in my opinion, but not everyone is super fast when it comes to that feature of liar dice, but it’s not a bad thing it’ll take time for people to get used to it and it’s an excellent feature to you know you get a critical hit you might even do double the damage of your critical hit which I think it’s great. It’s a great skill to have but some people will ask to see the actual role if you haven’t hidden, they’re gonna ask to see the proof. I do the Discord method where I send it to the group or at least send it to one person to confirm it but not everyone can do that so I see the pros and cons but gunslinger all the other features for high roller. Excellent way to recover risk dice and deal high damage with with the skills of every single gaming set they’re on the planet you’re able to gamble and play any game and use your gambling skills to get some great stuff
If that is the 2nd strongest, what would you say is the stronger Gunslinger subclass? I am playing a Spellslinger at the moment in an all Gunslinger party and found (at least with the build I have) that it's ridiculously versatile and powerful. Amazing as both a tank & battlefield control. Although a bit expensive in gold resources compared to other classes in the party.
Nobody is expecting "realism" or theyd be playing Cubicles and Computers.
But everyone has an idea of how their game world looks and works, to which they grant a suspension of disbelief towards.
If some middle earth army drove pickup trucks to battle instead of horses, some people might love it, and others will roll their eyes because it violates their sense of how the world worked. The amount of handwaving needed to allow pickup trucks but not complety alter the way the rest of the world works would be too much for a lot of people and violate their sense of "realism"
Firearms do that for me.
And everyone who defends firearms say they just want it for flavor, but a pistol does more damage than a hand crossbow, so i find every excuse of "flavor" to be suspect.
If you really just want flavor, ill give you a pistol with the exaxt same stats as a hand crossbow, zero modifications to functionality, same damge, same range, same mastery, same propertied, just a different skin. But thats not what the "flavor" people really want. They always want to change thr functionality to be a little better than it was.
the firearm defenders will say it wouldnt be "realistic" if a pistol/firearm did thr exact same damage as a hand crossbow. They always want more.
And when others argue that having a colt 45 in dnd isnt realistic, other firearm defenders will say something about how can you expect "realism" in a game where "dragon people can build magic Iron Man armor & wield Moses's staff"
Wotc made a terrible mistake allowing firearms in game. If it was just about flavor reskin all the crossbows and be done. But instead they gave in to power creep and now there are colt 45's in the game
Im waiting for dnd sending stones to be redesigned to work like cell phones, like in the latest dnd movie. Hold them to your mouth, push a button, and talk into the microphone. In a audio group call no less. Maybe theyll add video. Someone will want that, and wotc will gladly take their money for a book that has it.
As for the IronMan suits, if youve ever played an artificer, you would know they are underpowered for most of the game. Nobody plays an artificer for the power. You might play it for flavor, but you'll always be playing catch-up with straight martial characters or full casters.
Not with firearms, its just more power, more features and more abilities. Theres no downside to firearms. Its all upside. Better in every way to the nearest equivalent crossbow. Which is why the "we just want thr flavor of a gunslinger" lands flat for me.
Firearms in the game are based on flintlocks. If you think those don't fit, you're clueless about history. Are some people flavoring them differently? Sure, but that has no bearing on the game design at its core.

"1st of all, if you're expecting realism"
