I am currently putting together a fantasy role-playing live comedy show, where the premise is basically a handful of local comedians play a tabletop RPG in front of a live audience and take none of it seriously. This is far from a new idea, but it's a fun way to incorporate my two favorite hobbies together and do something to mix up the local comedy scene here. It's essentially HarmonQuest, but with way less famous people and more audience participation. We're barely even charging a cover (cosplayers get in free, everyone else $5) mostly just to cover the cost of turning the lights on at the venue. This is way more for fun than any kind of business venture (so hopefully I don't get sued by anyone).
The rules system I'm using is a heavily simplified version of the SRD, with a lot of DM "behind the screen" magic to kind of guide the story and keep the show moving at an entertaining pace. I don't plan on using any brand names, unless I somehow get encouraged by the owners of those brands to do so. The reason why I'm posting here is both shameless promotion in case anyone here is local to the Chattanooga, TN area, and just to make sure I'm not breaking any laws by using DnD Beyond for fast monster stats and spell descriptions behind the scenes during the show. I don't think it would be, but I figured it would be best to put it out there and see before it was too late.
I won't spam up the boards directly plugging my show, but I'll put the event details in a reply if anyone cares.
Also as a neat little aside, I didn't realize Curse was based out of Huntsville until I listened to the latest DragonTalk. We did a playtest of the crowd participation mechanic at a Chattanooga open mic, and some visiting Huntsville comedians helped us out with it.

Sounds like a fun time! Be sure to 'promote' DDB while you're running your event with a lil tweet. *wink* *wink*

If you want to take a day trip to Huntsville, we'd be happy to show you around the office and you can meet the DDB team.
