I'll be completely honest- certain elements are completely indicative of whether or not I buy into DDB. On paper (or not I guess), it seems perfect and intuitive- however there are key features that I would NEED to be able to support it:
I would need the ability to edit the premade campaigns. Often times I'll take one of the official campaigns and drop it into my world. If I can't do the bare minimum of editing names and such- I'm out.
Just what exactly the entire layout and interface will look like- especially within the confines of the search. Again, I don't mind rebuying material if it's intuitive enough that I can forgo books for my players and make life overall much easier.
Otherwise there's not a lot I can do to personally justify the cost and maintenence- especially because I have a OneNote doc that effectively does what DDB is doing. Obviously the OneNote doc requires me to personally maintain it, but I will if it proves to be a less worthwhile investment to DDB.

Dude you're in the wrong thread for this. But I'll try and address what you said ;P
I'm pretty confident you're not going to be able to edit the hard-coded official campaigns. You're welcome to make whatever notes on paper or on your DDB campaign page as you please. I'm surprised that you're describing this as a dealbreaker of a feature.
In terms of what it's going to look like, the D&D Beyond Twitter account posted a preview of Curse of Strahd a while back. Here's a link to the post. I really do think that this new interface will be easier to navigate than the physical books, and you'll be able to access it wherever, so that's a pretty big deal to me, personally. I think it will make life overall much easier :)
If you already have a OneNote doc that you're maintaining, and it works well for you, then maybe some of the features of D&D Beyond won't be super useful to you. I encourage you to continue trying it out and give it a shot, as I know for me at least, I'd rather pay Curse and WotC some extra money to not have to go to the trouble of maintaining my otherwise really clunkily organized campaign notes
And now, back to hype. LESS THAN ONE HOUR AWAY!!!!

Forgive the Non-hyped, for they know not the ways of our thread!

Haha I know, but its kind of frustrating that they said we'd get more previews of the campaign pages, but haven't gotten diddly squat. I've attempted to tweet them a few times about it but to no avail... and on top of that the OneNote doc I have will make life easier in some ways but not ways. That's why unlike a good portion of the DnD community, I'm willing to give it a shot and at least buy Curse of Strahd today (as I'm running it and could use the ease of access for my own needs w/ my onenote).
Just wanted to chime in and say that I actually got to show my group how DDB works at our game this weekend, and they all jumped on the hype train and threw money at me. One is even gonna get his own Master Tier and books in case he wants to start his own game.
But no pressure... :)
