Looking for the classic Witch character to help flesh out a Horror campaign. Don't see one in the monster manual, unless its under some other title...any good creepy recommendations for a witch to battle? Thanks all...
Really any Hag would be your classic witch depending on the level range you are looking at. If you have Volo's guide to monsters they have a whole section dedicated to Hag Lore.
Since D&D has become all inclusive and even monsters of old are now playable people, just jump on the PC bandwagon and roll a priest or Druid and call it a witch (since Wicca is a religion and its priests/priestesses are Witches)
or you can check the Homebrew content. Many of us have created witches (I created one based on the Oz witches).

How about the Barovian Witch from Curse of Strahd?
There's also the Blood Witches from Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:

I want a witch that's powerful and can hand all witch like magic. That needs these magical coins to keep her alive forever
And she's cursed many people over these green emerald coins
And she's the end of campaign monster to beat
Who would be the best witch monster for that?

A hag of some sort, the exact type depending on when you want the end of the campaign to be.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
A Hag, arch-mage, druid, it depends on your players' levels.
It (the coin thing) sounds similar to an Annis hag. You could make it part of a coven, something like that.
