So I’m creating a subclass for Warlock. The idea I have in mind is that as they level up, they can choose between gaining one spell or another. For example, when they start out with 1st level spells, they can choose between learning Bless or Guiding Bolt, but not both. Again, when they gain 2nd level spells, they can choose between learning Prayer of Healing or Branding Smite. Again, only one of the two. The idea is that that have to choose wether they’re gaining support or offensive abilities as they level up. So my question is how do I make the spells appear as options, because thus far I’ve only been able to add them both at the same time.
You have to do that using the "Options" section of the homebrew editor. Create a feature at 1st level named "Spell Choice" or whatever the feature is called. Rather than adding a modifier, add two Options - Bless, and Guiding Bolt. Limit this to one option, by typing "1" a single time in the Features space. In each individual option, add the relevant spell as a modifier.
Bit of a kludge, and it doesn't show up as pretty on the character sheet as one would like, but mechanically it will do what you're looking for.
Or you could enter the spells modifier thing, list both spells in the same modifer, and mark Known Spell as NO, Consumes slot as YES, and always prepared as YES. Make sure 'is infinite' is unchecked
How does that ensure the character only learns one of the two spells? The ability is not "know both, but cast only one per rest", it's "choose one to learn for normal use"

When two spells are listed using the same “add spell” it forces the player to choose one of the two when they gain that class feature.
If that allowed a player to learn both but only cast one of them then it would be possible to have multiple spells use the same pool of “uses” and I wouldn’t have to jigger stuff like my Precisionist’s “Advanced Precisionist’s Scope” to list as “at Will” and link back to an action with a number of uses.
I keep tellin’ ya Yurei, I live in that homebrewer. I could program option trees that would remind you of an Escher painting.

Thank you for this! D&D Beyond has had a lot of issues over the last couple days with updating changes to homebrew, but I finally got the first choice working! Much appreciation!
