Hi, don't know if this is the proper way of asking such a thing but I might as well try.
So, we have a campaign that is being planned. Two of the players wanted very badly -and I mean very badly- to play chaotic evil rapists for some godforsaken reason. Like they'd not even have a proper backstory, it'd just revolve around some generic things they found around on the internet and being evil. DM ruled out that for this campaign no chaotic evil characters where allowed, mainly because they just wanted to cause havoc in the campaign. However, one of the players -who has a thing for edgy type characters- wants to play an undead with it's main characteristic being he has a big junk and, you guessed, wants to **** people. DM allowed the character and I, when asked if my character would have a penis, said I might not play this campaign because, well, I do not like being in a party with a rapist that gets to actually kill people by ****** them. The others said I didn't like anything and I was a snowflake. Mind you, I was planning to play a female water genasi tempest cleric, so obviously my cleric would have smashed the undead's skull in if she saw him actually doing the act in front of her. I have my weird stuff I keep to myself, but I'm not into **** and this guy insists I shouldn't call him out on it because I'm worse since I have a character that was in fact raped by a -mind you- almost godlike being and had been traumatized, growing to be a gloomy and violent woman. I fail to see why I should accept playing into their ****-fantasy when it doesn't correlate in any way to my other character. I just want to play a traditional campaign where I can try out some races and classes with a party consisting of normal people and not potential predators.
Holy heck. I'd turn tail and run honestly. I don't have an answer, but really it doesn't seem like a good idea to stay in the company of people like that. Not trying to be rude here, sorry if that's what it seemed like.
It seems like you answered you own question in feeling the need to ask it in the first place. Usually when you have to ask "is something okay" or "am I comfortable in this situation" the answer is probably no.
Might as well, but I wouldn't want them to not play what they want to play. At the same time I don't f-ing want to play with them if they do those things. I will just pass on this one, there's aways the next campaign.
Neither you nor anyone else is obligated to participate in someone else's *** fodder. The table situation you describe sounds absolutely ghastly. I recommend pulling the Eject lever as swiftly as possible and declining any further invitations from this crew. Allow them their jollies amongst themselves. Your character surviving trauma in her past does not invite someone to visit trauma upon you-the-player in the present.
Don't play in that campaign, and quite honestly break off contact with the players and the GM outside of it (he might not be the one putting that stuff into his game, but he's allowing it).

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
If you don't feel comfortable playing in a campaign like what you just described, then don't play and don't let anyone make you feel bad about that decision.

I would definitely NOT play in this campaign or even with this group. You said yourself..
I just want to play a traditional campaign where I can try out some races and classes with a party consisting of normal people and not potential predators.
So, I would say, stick to your guns. Maintain your standards and find a group where you can feel comfortable. It may take some effort, but I believe you can succeed. I got the impression from your post that you would enjoy a campaign that includes character growth and development, and this seems very unlikely from the people you have described.
I think you should walk away from this group of people. It is always better to find a group that works well for you than to play in a group that you are uncomfortable with.
Bail. Immediately if not sooner. I really hope these people aren't longtime friends or anything, because not only does it sound like a really bad idea to play with them, it sounds like a bad idea to have them in your life.
Why do you even want to associate with people like that?
As to you supposedly being hypocritical. The ancient Greeks beat you to your character's backstory - classic mythology. If someone can't see the difference between that and a zombie rapist... I probably can't say what I think without getting suspended.
Get as far away as possible. Definitely do not play D&D with these people, and possibly break off your friendship. If someone enjoys make believe ****, that says a lot about them. And not good things at all.

You couldn't pay me to play in a game like that.

I wouldn't play in that game. It sounds like those people could write lawful good on their sheets and still be gigantic asshats in game.

Run. And don't look back.
Their attempts to shame you are classic examples of tactics real life rapists use. These are not good people to game with or hang around with.
Don't be afraid of the dark, be afraid of what's in the dark.
Run.
Do not play with these people. Their tastes are obviously a thousand miles away from yours, and you will not have fun.
Find a more traditional campaign where you can enjoy the RP.

Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
Yikes.
Yeah that just sounds outright disgusting. I suggest running and never playing with any of them ever again.

These people aren’t edgy, they’re just terrible people that can’t be trusted. Cut them out of your life and block all access.
Dodge the heck out of that campaign
