Hey. I am making a character and the Eldritch knight option isn't showing up for lvl 3 and up. I have looked a some forums and some said you need to buy the class. Could anyone tell me where?

1.) If you have a GM who has a license and his campaign is here, then joining the campaign should give you access to it
2.) If you’ve bought the PHB elsewhere, you should be able to redeem the code that comes with it here
3.) If you haven’t bought the book yet, you can just purchase it in the marketplace

Thank you so much. How do I reedem the code and where?
Wait I found where but im just finding out where the code is in my book
There is no code in the PHB. There are no codes in any of the books to get redeemed here. This website is not owned by the company that makes the game. This website is a bookstore and it makes money by selling books.
If you got “The Essentials Kit” there is a code in that. That is the only thing with a code because it is the only thing that the game’s publisher put a rebate on that could be redeemed here at this bookstore. And if I recall correctly that still doesn’t give you the digital PHB here for free.
If you purchased the “Essentials Kit” in physical form then someone besides me can help you find your code. (I would, but I did not purchase the essentials kit.) If you just purchased your PHB separately, then there is no code whatsoever and you will need to either purchase the “Full Version” of the PHB from this website to use that stuff here, or at the very least you would need to purchase the Eldritch Knight all by itself for $2.
Wait I found where but im just finding out where the code is in my book
As far as I know, the only physical products that comes with digital codes is the physical box version of the Essentials Kit. Buying any other product will not allow you redeem it here or anywhere else.
Basically, unless the product specifically says so, owning a product in one medium or platform does not mean you own it in another medium or platform. You cannot redeem your physical books on Beyond for the digital ones, just as you cannot redeem digital books at your local bookstore for the physical ones.
If you have the physical box version of the Essentials Kit, the codes should be on a loose piece of colored, glossed paper. It looks like your typical advertisement handouts with "Welcome Adventurer" on the front and three QR codes on the back. Two of the QR codes have alphanumeric codes next to them that you can redeem here.

You can purchase the Eldritch Knight Subclass from the Marketplace within the Players Handbook. I've linked it to you here.

if I have someone in my party that had the Players handbook could I then add it to my character?
Be in the same campaign with that person on D&D Beyond
Somebody in the campaign would need to have a Master tier subscription and enable Content Sharing for the campaign.
The character you want to be an Eldritch Knight would need to be made in the campaign.

I have the digital copy of the players handbook and it still only allows me to pick Champion as Martial Archetype with my level 3 Fighter
To be 100%, is it the 2014 Player's Handbook? If it is, have you checked your entitlements are in sync? (Go to your profile - click the 'Licenses' tab - you should see a button in black that says 'Sync My Entitlements' which you want to go ahead and click)

Thanks. But I already have the Players Handbook. Is it a bundle or is it a physical book?
You need to buy it for use on DDB's Character Builder.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Do you have a physical copy, or a digital one from D&D Beyond? A physical copy or a .pdf from somewhere else is no good here.
If you have a digital version from D&D Beyond (https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/sourcebooks/players-handbook), it has to be the full version - not the Compendium version at the bottom of the page.
Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
