I think something is wrong with beyond most of the time it’s a simple log out and in and it shows up but I’ve had issues with it not showing up. Only thing I can do is hurry up and wait to roll some blue dice of healing.
So I'm new and confused. I clicked the email link, went to my dice page (after signing in) and saw nothing new whatsoever.
Am I missing something?
You can try going to your account page and clicking on Marketplace. After that it should ask you to sync your purchases. Sometimes that works. Logging in and out works also. A lot of times DDB hasn't added the perk to your account yet. I've done all of the above and still don't see it. It will show up eventually.
My entitlements are synced, the dice show up as items I own in my account. I've logged out and back in. But no new dice in my dice collection. So, assuming this is just a rollout issue. Probably all be available in a few hours.
You do not get this for being patient. You get it for being subscribed. :)
It's delays in releasing something they have full control over (no WoTC creating insane rules like Tasha they need to program) is what is concerning. I'd guess it isn't even the same guys working on the dice that are coding the incoming 3 books now (and all three books look pretty tame compared to Tasha from the outside).

What you seem to forget is that even though they have control over this, they have to deliver three (!) books in three months (21 September for Witchlight; 19 October for Fizban; 16 November for Strixhaven); and since those deadlines are given by WotC and practically set in stone, they have priority over "let's design some dice to hand out". And they were more or less announced at the same time so it's not like they had several months to prepare everything. Additionally, Witchlight adds some adventure specific extra steps for character chreation; and Strixhaven adds "flexible" features that can alter several classes, which is more insane rules than what Tasha had...

I believe they said they were scrapping the flexible subclasses but I could be wrong
I thought they were scrapping UA. We'll see what the Strixhaven will bring.

No I did not forget that. I even wrote it in the post.
AFAIK flexible subclasses are scrapped and in the 3 books we will get in terms of character creator:
2 new races from Witchlight (both were mostly ready in UA)
1 new race from Strixhaven (mostly ready from UA)
3? new subraces from Fizban (mostly ready from UA)
2 new subclasses from Fizban (mostly ready from UA)
Few backgrounds (hardly the most challenging part to implement or they can ignore it like last time lol)
Feats and spells probably from all of them
Delaying these (but still popping it out before Witchlight next week) means it had no effect on Witchlight development. Unless they waited for Witchlight to be 100% ready and than started working on this, but that again is a scheduling issue to be solved. Even if they get insanely complicated stuff to implement, they are business and we are paying them to do it, so it is hardly an excuse, but would be understanbable (and not like they came here to explain the reasons).
I'm saying if you cannot make a dice skin or 8 frames in time, that makes me lose confidence in you being able to make the book contents or the promised overhaul in a timely manner.
I'm not saying the delays in subscription perks are a critical issue in Beyond, I'm saying it can be a sign of critical issues in resource management (which includes having enough resources). These are not the only things late or missing. Last time the preorder bonuses from Van Richten were also late. Backgrounds are not implemented (I guess they want to do it with the new overhaul which again does not have a deadline). Several Character relevant "stuff" cannot be added to the character sheet (epic feats, supernatural powers, the faith stuff from theros, madness, dark gifts).
That said, I still find Beyond decent value for my money. I just don't idolise it, and have certain concerns regarding how it is operating. This 0 communication on the forums policy I cannot get behind. They could have said, we are busy with the 3 books on our neck and will provide the bonuses later.
This is also a theoretical question, but what if someone's subsrciption would have ended a day before the randomly chosen perk day, and would only subscribe back a month later after the new ones are announced. He was subscribed in September, so was in October, sure there is a gap, but now the person is missing a month's perks (he would have if they would have been delivered on time). This gets worse if the new month actually releases on time (smaller window). Maybe if he knew that perks are claimeble from the 15th ot the 15th he would have subbed back earlier. If you have a schedule everyone knows what is the timeframe the perks can be claimed. Now they just appear and disappear randomly.

As a developer, I know that shit can hit the fan in the last minute, so I wouldn't be surprised, if they would put all priority on these three, and (given their developer resource limits) not relying on "we can still finish if we take some time to do something else". In fact I would be surprised if they did the other way around, and rather make sure they can 100% deliver the content on time before spending time on doing anything else.
As for the theoretical question, as far as I remember it doesn't matter what day the reward rollout is; you are entitled if you are subscribed for at least one day of the month. So theoretically if you have sub for one month on the 15th of every second month, you would get all rewards for the whole year (albeit you wouldn't be able to use while your sub is off).

I guess better safe than sorry, but than again I'd guess it isn't the same people designing or programming dice, or frames as the ones who are making sure everything clicks in the character creator or that the links / monster statblock etc are all correct. (this is why even delayed games get cosmetic DLCs pretty early, cosmetic people were done earlier and they were working on the skins, while the rest of the team finished the game, still there is always an uproar how they had resources doing skins and why they weren't finishing the game)
But maybe they are. Your guess is as good as mine, unless someone actually has a headcount/teams/Roles&Responsibilities split.
I guess the irregular release schedule from WoTC also does not help as who'd want to keep extra staff around to be "bored" when there is no release just to have enough people once they decide to push out 3 books in 3 months.
As for the theoretical question: Well that fully answers it.

That is a logical assumption that usually works when you have a team of 100+ people; but falls apart when the team is below 20-25. You wouldn't like to know how many things I have to do at our company that are not even really related to my job description, just because I can do it and we don't have anyone else who can...

Considering they have 20+ ads currently for multiple locations I'd say they must be sizeable enough. (also you would not like to know how many times that happens in larger companies as well:) ) Yeah I know this is for probably multiple sites, but that would just mean they could move developer workforce around (and sure learning a "new code" sucks (even if they have company wide standards), but on the long run it might be worth it (if they are not yet doing it))
Anyway, no reason to guess why the delays happen. I agree, if you need to push something behind so you can make other deadlines, these perks should be one of the first things to consider. They we however late almost every month regardless of approaching book deadlines. I just really hope this is not a symptom of a larger ongoing issue.
The Character Sheet Backlog is a 2021 Goal, along with the super vague Feature System & "continued integration of our shared play space" (source: dev update). We still have 3 months to go so I guess we'll se if they deliver on those fronts.

DDB is always on time with its book releases and supported content for the books, and is constantly working to fix bugs and bring user content forward.
There is no reason to assume there's a "larger ongoing issue," and to even suggest such speculation in the same paragraph that begins with "no reason to guess why the delays happen" is pretty odd.
They also make every effort to provide adequate time for new users to subscribe so that they don't miss out on the perks for any given month, and have gone so far as to extend the period through which certain perks are available. So even when they are late, they go out of their way to make up for it.
DDB is always on time with its book releases and supported content for the books, and is constantly working to fix bugs and bring user content forward.
...
So I understand by the above do you mean the book content they decided to release and/or had time to finish by the release day of the books?
I feel that view is a little lenient when talking about always on time and the integrated content - Blanketing everything that is not integrated as unsupported, therefore the supported content was released on time. I agree we can always expect the compendium content to be functional and available on release day. However most releases aren't fully complete when it comes to integration.
I don't want to see more stuff being left out of integration to get sub perks, or really any of the above reasons. The books also happen to be the only thing we have a true release date for making it much easier for them to move other target release dates.
I am not sure, based on prior releases, we should be confident that all of their content teams aren't struggling to meet releases and stuff isn't left out because of that. This isn't the only indicator - UA being cut, the character sheet backlog from multiple books etc.
I hope that their, goes by many names, feature system fixes a lot of this and they can clear their character sheet backlog this year but it would be a pleasant surprise for me not an expectation.

I fully agree. I can roll my own dice (in fact I really prefer to, cause they don't slow me down as the screen dice do); I don't really use more than 3-4 frames (I find most of them taking away too much from the actual portrait); but if I want to select a certain spell or make sure a specific magic item properly adjusts my stats and/or professions, there's no non-digital fallback.
Book content and character creation should come first, as the original aim for this whole site was. That's why I invested in it, not for visual eyecandy that actually hinders me when I try to play the game.

I like the new dice.
Yes, they have the same shape as the Healing Pot dice, but these are blue and sparkly. Rather than red, and not sparkly.
I saw a complaint that they're a reskin? All the dice are the same shape regardless. They're all just skins of a dice. Kinda how the dice thing works.

We've stopped this OGL madness, but stay vigilant, they tried it once, they can try it again.
D&d Beyond just keep getting better and Better 😀
I use Roll20. Will/Can the other players see my dice when I roll?
