Wait so I'm beta testing something for nothing? Like I don't even get a peak? Like I'm never going to use the srd and now your telling me I won't even get a peak at the good stuff? Sorry but my time is worth more then nothing..... maybe not much more but definitely more.
It's a beta test, not temporary access - that other content is usually paid for. I think it's generous that DBB even gave everyone access in the first place, seeing as it was originally planned to be a closed beta.
I feel it's a little harsh to suggest they think our time is worth nothing.
Personally, I think the info spread is pretty, but I simply have little to no need for one more way to access SRD info, especially via website. However, I am interested in the rest of the promised functionality and am looking forward to trying that out. Is there even a rough estimate for when stage 2 and stage 3 will go live?
I am enjoying testing this, though I need to play with it even more than I have, but even what they added this week has made it even better. I honestly think using only the SRD information will hit enough of all of the components of everything to test the functionality of the system. That is one of the main reasons for testing is to make sure what they built this on can really do what they expect it to do. Sure we can't see ALL the information right now, but that is not the point. I'm impressed enough so far to keep testing and see how everything works as they add it even if anything I play with will be SRD only or any homebrew I throw in when we can test that. I think that might be in Phase 3.
I'm really glad they are testing it this way. I've done enough big IT projects to see things explode if you don't first test a foundation and then work in logical and modular way for adding things on. So far this foundation is looking to be coming out quite nicely including the tooltips, which have a few quirks (positioning at times) and the fun of getting them all linked this week.
I am also glad they are looking at a variety of pricing and subbing options. I don't see a player needing as much as a DM for services they want to use. I'm hoping to see a robust set of options for this digital material and the app.

Unfortunately it's not that straightforward. DBB, and most other mobile-friendly websites, give you a big button to go to the desktop version - but what they don't warn you of is that there's no big button to go back.
If on Chrome via Android: 1) Tap the menu button (line of three vertical dots) in the top right by the url web address 2) Scroll down and tap 'Site Settings'. 3) Scroll down and tap 'Storage'. 4) Tap the search button (magnifying glass) and put in dndbeyond 5) Tap 'Clear & Reset ' and confirm it.
Now when you load up the DBB site again it will be the mobile version - you will, however, need to log in again.

(Edit: I don't own an iPhone/Pad myself so I'm not certain - it should be relatively similar, though. I'd suggest using Google to find out how to clear the cache for a website which is what I've described doing here for Android.)
It's generous of them to let us work for free? I'm not running an srd game and now that I know that's all this app will be good for beta testing is a waste of time. Also I hate the forums I can never find replies.
Cool. Keep it up. I used it in conjunction with Fantasy Grounds as a quick way to find info on the fly. I was leveling a new player's Ranger (non UA) to 7th. I know I could have used FG to get the same content. But, I was curious to see how easily D&DB revealed the info. It worked well. I also saw a note suggesting further collaboration on this between WoTC and Smiteworks. I am excited to see how that pans out. As a long time FG DM, I'll try to provide relevant feedback where needed. I hope it helps. Cheers!
Will you include spells, monsters and magic items from the free pdf (like the Elemental Evil online supplement) ? Shouldn't you at least show the names of spells/monsters/magic items of the not-SRD content ?
Actually it's difficult to give a proper feedback, because, I prefer to use other online products that actually propose more stuff than you do for now. (content from the free pdf, classes, races, etc.)

The purpose of the beta testing is to get feedback on the layout and functionality, not the completeness of the content.
This is all great content and I'm excited to see where it's headed. I'm wondering if there will be an app released? Maybe not immediately but eventually? I find it a pain to use my phone's browser all the time and would much prefer an app.
But I'm not it going to roll a game that's srd so I'm not going to use it. No use no feed back.
Thank you for the feedback - it's important to know what people feel about the approach being taken for the beta test.
I know what you mean - I'm not about to start running an "SRD only" game either, however I can see that this toolset will be really awesome when it goes live with all features & content, so I've volunteered time to help out here, so the devs can focus on the journey.
The problem with a moderator making a guesstimate is that people will take it too seriously. We have no more intel than anyone else on the forums, and we're just as excited to get to the next phase as everyone else.

I spent around half an hour trying to find that link earlier today.... when I found it, I was like < insert gif of Picard face-palming here >

Where might i find a timeline (if one exists) for the stage releases?
Unfortunately no time line is available... at this time. Right now we're all waiting with baited breath. ;)
