Oh no, we've bear-ly started again and already we have to bear these puns. The worst part is, they're really polarizing the community.
I do not believe you have the correct koalafications to make such an apawling pun
You’re really pandaring to the audience there, aren’t you?

Horatio Hirschfeld - Squire imbued with fae powers, in the Coliseum of Conquest (W2/L1) DM for Reavers of Harkenwold, and sometimes The Fighting Grounds of the Coliseum
Currently playing in: Quest for the Shunned City, Coliseum of Conquest, DragonDenn's Dragonlords, Shipwrecked on Fugue, Tomb of Annihilation, Razor's Lost Mine of Phandelver, The Lost Kenku & One Grung Above
Currently DMing: Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Coliseum of Conquest—The Arena (Sometimes)
So, to even (and level) the entire playing field a few addendums:
1. All players will be starting at level 3. New or past contestants, this will help matchmaking and maybe give those who messed up on their first try a fresh start. The rules are mostly the same with 2 added benefits, you may pick any mundane armor and weapon you wish to start with. AND 1 Uncommon magic item of your choice.
2. ALL Summoning/Conjuration/"Allies" abilities and spells are banned. I myself abused this and I can tell you that unless you yourself have 10 coins at your disposal, you're hard pressed to fight back, let alone win. It just isn't fair. In that vein Simulacrum and similiar spells are also still banned.
3. Spell scrolls will no longer be available, again casters just do not need the help. At all. Trust me on this I promise it isn't needed
4. I wont be making "Campaigns" as it were, BDaddly's advice on shareable sheets is honestly more sensible. I trust everyone to be honest and track hp, abilities, and spells as necessary.
5. This isn't so much a rule as it is an offer, Eider is officially an NPC. I just cant reconcile DM-ing and participating. That being said, once people get to level 13, he will be available for Exhibition matches. For those Veterans who wanted to take him on.
I do hope this hasn't discouraged anyone and please realize I am just trying to make as inviting and level playing field as possible for everyone. As for myself, I can promise to posting at least twice a day, possibly more depending on work. But guaranteed I will be in here twice to keep things moving. Should we get overloaded (hopefully we do) with players and characters at varying levels, then is anyone would like to step on in and DM a secondary fight I would not say no to the assistance.
Should anyone have questions I am always up to answer them. Fell free to PM me or ask on either Thread.
WITH ALL THAT SAID, THE FIRST FIGHT WILL BE ALL CONTESTANTS AT LEVEL 3 SPLIT INTO 2 TEAMS. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!
Remember, this is a For Fun post. Please be kind and remember to enjoy yourself.
Grianne has arrived at the school, she had found many of her fellow contestants before, but some of them may be missing. It seems in the mayhem after the meteor, she has lost alot her gear. No matter as she still has her magic, though it seems surviving said meteor has taken its toll and she seems to not have the strength to cast many of her stronger spells. Claws will have to do, though that was always a prefered choice of her.
She looks around for her boyfriend Eldin. He survived she thought, but is he still around?

Eldin walks slowly Eider's school. With it being one of the only places still standing. Something feels very very wrong. He raises up a hand to cast Cure Wounds on himself but it doesn't seem to do anything. His bag feels strange. He empties it out to find everything destroyed in it. He gets a strange feeling and checks his magical equipment. Nothing. It seems that whatever that destroyed the town also destroyed his equipment. He also feels very much weakened and magical healing does not seem to do anything to restore his lost abilities. Was he the only one who was effected or were there others? He does not want to feel completely unarmed now that he realizes his equipment is of no use. He quickly and quietly begins salvaging the ruins. He finds that he is having trouble finding his footing. The meteor left him weaker than he thought. His ability to hide has essentially been cut in half. Even so, he is good at hiding. He salvages some equipment and even finds an uncommon magic item that still works. "Good Haul. Could be better but this will have to do."
Now armed and slightly more dangerous, Eldin enters the school. He scans the crowd. Looks like a lot of people survived. That is good. He spots Grianne and quickly rushes up to her. He asks, "I'm glad to see you're still here. Is everything alright? All my equipment got destroyed."
Sora resides in the school moving a few books around and reading some, recently she had become one of eider's recent apprentices, she looks over seeing the connection Eldin and grianne had made her smile a bit. Turning to the door she looks waiting for Marvarax to return. She knew he had survived, but he was currently out searching for survivers

Marvarax andSora (Dragonborn) The retired fighter and WIP scholar - Glory
Brythel(Dwarf), The dwarf with a gun - survival at sea
Jaylin(Human), Paladin of Lathander's Ancient ways - The Seven Saints (Azura Claw)

Viclas Tyrin(Half Elf), Student of the Elven arts- Indrafatmoko's Defiance in Phlan
(@Eider: It's been so long that I cannot remember. But, was UA stuff allowed?)
(Also, though I hate to be that guy, as far as the ban on "allies"/summons from abilities at least, I assume that includes Familiars, Artificer's Steel Defenders and Bard College of Creation(assuming UA is allowed)'s dancing object (as examples) as well?)
Mazara was not one to lose his nerve. And yet, he never arrives at the school. Some would say they swore they saw the ebony warrior in passing aiding those in reaching the center of order within the chaos, only to be swallowed up by a ray of light. As for Marmaduke, a sort of dwarven gambling broker, though small time compared to most, the gold dwarf has yet to be found.
There are yet plenty of others about still gathering at the school. One such whose untimely arrival in town marches strides forth with a purpose nurtured perhaps by the tragedy. A creature of metal and wood and stone bearing the symbol of the Red Knight etched into its shield, a bow at its back, and fairly tall and lithe figure... of Dreadwood
(Still re-working my character since the level 3 start, but should have one up before arena launch. I would offer to help with DMing as well, but I'd be far too green to be much help there, me thinks EliteHatter.)
As people hustle about moving debris and rubble from pathways, searching for lost items or loved ones, one of them seems a bit out of place. He wears a tunic of black and white stripes, white gloves, and black trousers. His face is unnaturally pale except for the stark black features of his round eyes, mouth, and eyebrows. This odd character stoops to lift a heavy stone and struggles. As he lifts the payload, it's suddenly apparent that it is completely invisible. He nearly falls over under the weight, opening his mouth to cry out, but there is no sound. The odd fellow regains his balance and continues with his unseen load.
Swigg Mgoo walks into the school. All former prizes destroyed, he has no other choice but to sit in a corner and tune his guitar and wait for a chance to regain his tools.

Signed Sha'kar back up. Though I'm also willing to make a new character if needed to make things easier.
Same here, if it came down to it.

As long as the characters are the same then you're fine. Levels and items gained from the Coliseum are all legal.

Eider hastily makes his various preparations to both the grounds and mentally......
"Far more people are interested in School than I remember."
He hurriedly scoops up his cloak and heads to survey the new battle grounds one more time before it all begins.

Just asking for clarification here, can the uncommon magic item be an armor or weapon?
Yes it can. That was to say you are allowed plate or studded leather as well as an uncommon such as a wand, cloak, or pair of boots.
