If a character is introduced who multiclassed into a spellcasting class, do you waive the cost of the arcane focus or component pouch they need, and just allow them to have it?
If not, then...
(1) can the player spend their gold on an arcane focus during character creation, and
(2) are focii/pouches available in the town once the character has accumulated sufficient coin?
(@Rod: Because of the initial set up, the costs get waived on mundane items for character creation, which include arcane focus/component pouches, regardless of starting classes. You still need them as per normal rules for spells that might require them, barring having your starting uncommon magic item being said focus. However, after one's first match, they'd have to pay the PHB prices, if they choose acquire anything more.)

(OOC: The influx of alts means that Level 3 matches will no longer be empty... I have a vague memory of one level three-match that was just Egozi/FireCat5 against an NPC because there weren't enough active level 3s, but Orileo would know better than me.)
Packer trots out after the Leonin and sees a few others that don't look to be as out of his league as the pair that he had just seen walk into the Colisuem. Holding out his hand, he introduces himself to the dwarf (and anybody else around), "Hello there, my name is Packer. Y'all folk look interesting, what is it that ya do?"

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Barbär stares in awe at the towering height, in comparison of a dwarf, of the Leonin and does his best to avoid eye contact, swallows hard, and turns to his new acquaintance.
"So. There are many walks of life here, indeed. Really hope i Dont need to climb up his back to knock him out, rather not face that one. Or you to be completely honest. You seem the type to not be quite forthright with details. Ive got to keep a level head for these fights. By the way, i never caught your name...?"
"Falqinor. I dont want to fight you either. Dwarves in heavy armor are kind of my nightmare." Falqinor stands up and wanders off splitting into four with a word as he leaves just in case

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Packer grins evilly and points to the darts that hang from his shoulder strap. "You see these tiny little things. They may not look like much, but it only takes one or two well-placed darts in the throat to kill a man." He looks up to Barbar in the eye, "That's what I do."

(( Here's a character I think I've tweaked well enough for the Coliseum. So, he'll be my submission as an alt... ))
Namor walked into the bar, his glaive strapped onto his back, and took in the scene. Seemed like it was a decent group of competitors; the word that this coliseum would be good training seemed spot on. The young man adjusted the polearm, feeling a bit light at the moment... the extra straps, loops and sheathes on his nearly-new-looking plate armor made clear that he normally carried a few more weapons, but for now he'd left them at the inn.
The adventurer smiled to himself, thinking about his upcoming matches, as he walked up to the bar to grab a seat. It was good to be back exploring and facing new challenges... not that his years at sea had been bad. Hard, honest work did a man good, after all. But he needed to prepare to assist his new patron; and the experience he'd gain here was, according to all reports, "invaluable."
The next match will feature any interested level-3 competitors. The match will begin on Sept 13th. Or sooner, if all level contestants gather before then.

*Barbär stares, yet again dumbstruck at the way the Yaun-ti departed. Wide eyed and in a slight shade of shock, he sees the large hand of Packer-*
"H-hello. Very nice to meet you, and to not be at the end of a weapon. Im Barbär. A smith by trade and passion, powered by the Allhammer."
*Barbär reaches out a hand to meet Packers instinctually, as soon as he is aware he is being addressed by this fellow*
"What is it you do? Im sure you are quite capable?"
Packer grins evilly and points to the darts that hang from his shoulder strap. "You see these tiny little things. They may not look like much, but it only takes one or two well-placed darts in the throat to kill a man." He looks up to Barbar in the eye, "That's what I do."

(Yea. Trying to get better at that, as I fear some new comers who don't hear anything at all presume noone is paying attention. ^_^;)

What do I need to do to join a coliseum battle? I have a character that fits the requirements.
(As far as i know, you can post up your sharable character link here to be reviewed by the higher-ups)
thanks!
