Bram reads along with Zaliey 

"Hmmm, I wonder if any of this stuff is here?"

Bram looks around the makeshift camp for any of the items listed in the diary

You notice a few lumps in the bedroom that turn out to the items listed, as well as a scroll tube labeled "MAP".

Cedrick looks over the "ritual knife" to see if it has any religious significance or uses.

Bram pulls all of the items out and shows the others

"Fuzzyfeet, you have navigation training right? Maybe you should look at this map"

Bram hands the map to fuzzyfeet

"Zaliey, the diary said that the dagger might be magical, your a wizard right? Do you have any way to check if it is magical?"

Bram hands the dagger to Zaliey

Bram looks the sword over, to see if its worth anything in his estimation.

Intelligence check to see if the sword is worth anything: 16

"Hmm maybe this statue has religious significance. Hey Cedrick what do you make of this?"

Bram hands the statue to Cedick

"Anyone want to take a look at this armour?"

The knife has some figures carved into the hilt that resemble the toad-bat statue.

The sword hilt would be worth more than 40 GP for a collector.

The scroll tube map is completely blank except for three words:

"Thank you Zailey", Cedrick says as he takes the Statue of toad-bat and looks it over:

This... Creature is like no god in any pantheon you've ever seen or heard of. The statue seems to be just slightly, barely, microscopically moving in your grasp. Whatever this statue depicts is simply wrong and terrible on a cosmic level. As if the horrible little statue couldn't get any creepier, you suddenly feel it trying to insert itself into your mind!

Make a wisdom saving throw.

Cedrick looks intently at the statue of the toad-bat. He marvels at it for a moment, turning it over and over in his hands. 'Did it just move?' he thinks to himself as his gaze fixes on the eyes of the statue. Deeper and deeper he looks into its gaze... it feels as though he is being pulled inside of it from his very core... 'Helm, preserve me' he silently prays...

Zaliey sees cedrick struggling with the statue.  He attempts to smack it out of his hands.

The statue itself screeches with rage!

"HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT ME, THE GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD TSATHOGGUA! THAT HURT MY STONE BODY AND MY FEELINGS!"

Cinder stares at the screaming statue, "Whoa. That's freaky, it is alive. And it has feelings, who would have guessed?" 

"FEAR ME, MORTAL! I AM THE MIGHTY TSATHOGGUA, or at least the vessel of him on this plane. Pledge to me, and I shall grant you unimaginable power!"

"I think it's pretty bad to make the person who knows how to navigate and maneuver our only way of transportation to become insane, so I'll pass.

Perhaps Bram would like to try it. He seems like a person that can take a crazed god into submission."

Fuzzyfeet really thinks to himself that Bram could outcrazy this self proclaimed god.

Stamping her feet at the statue and pointing at it, "Don't you dare start that nonsense! I don't care who you think you are Tassy (Tsathoggua), you start bothering my companions and I swear you will regret it." Standing straighter and brushing her cloak of dust. "You stand before a Warlock and agent of Glasya, Princess of the Nine Hells and Lord. You upset me and I will send your vessel to play with the Hellcats of the sixth layer. Understand?"

Intimidation:12

Bram steps back as the statue falls to the ground

"ok that is creepy. maybe we should just sweep it back into the bed and cover it over...."

Putting the old sword into his pack, Bram remarks

"I'm going to hold onto this sword. I think we might be able to get some money for it. That is, if we find someone to sell it to, then we can split the money evenly among us."

Cedrick addresses the statue of Tsathoggua, "You are an abomination to Helm, and must be dealt with appropriately. My brothers at the Temple will know what to do with you." He then wraps the statue and matching dagger in the clothing from his pack, and tucks them away securely inside his pack.

"I think the map may need some more scrutiny", and casts Guidance on... (OOC: Whoever wants to investigate the map can use the benefits of this spell since it is a cantrip.)

Fuzzyfeet takes Cedrik's Guidance and tries to investigate the map while pronouncing the word 'help' in languages he knows (Common & Goblin), and by pushing it with his furry fingers.

"You be careful with that now" She says to Cedrick as he is putting it in his pack. As the others were busy with the map. Sylrea went over to inspect the armor. She sees Fuzzyfeet having trouble with the map, but figures someone else will help him. She doesn't know much about maps herself anyway. "Think this armor is cursed?" She asks to no one is particular, as she is poking and turning over the armor.

Ooc: Did the boat ride through the portal count as a short rest?  Omg, nat 1's love me. I get a lot of them in my other game as well. :(

As soon as you touch the word "help", the scroll goes blank, and words start appearing on it:

Welcome to the island of dread! This interactive map will guide you across this island. Simply touch the word "positioning system" and the location you wish to go."

Mini-Tsathoggua, meanwhile, is unimpressed:

"Everybody knows that the lords of the nine hells are replaced all the time, so you just invested into an unrelia-"

Before he can finish his rant, he is wrapped in cloth. This does not make him particularly happy:

"Humanity will be the first to fall when the great old ones rise!"
