The corpse continues answering obediently, but keeps it brief as usual. "The guild has many watch posts in the dungeon. There are 'Big Ears', 'Worg’s Eye' and 'Grick Snack' on the first level. 'Spider Eyes' and 'Dead Eyes' on this level."
The small kobold slowly makes his way over towards the Kenku. "Talking to the dead"he mutters to himself. "Hmm, that is impressive. These will make good companions I think."
The corpse gathers its remaining strength to answer: "It's a magical object we found in the rubble here. Some dwarvish writing on it. I don't know what it opens, but I'm sure it's important."
Afterwards, Shunns body slumps to the ground, motionless.
[As a side note, the stone key Shunn speaks of and the fresco key that Pisgah retrieved on level 1 are different objects. The fresco key also isn't magical.]
Fascinating! The implications are enough to drive the Kenku up the walls and around again. His mind works throughout the rest, and though he should actually be resting, he tries on the armor he'd requested. If nothing else, he should wear it in his spare time, work on becoming accustomed to it. This dungeon is dark, deep. Considering that, every little bit of protection helps in the long run.
[How should I do this, by the way? Is this just flavor text for taking the light armor feat at lvl 8?]
"That is an impressive trick, Nikk. Should we use that with Jaya to see what he might know about the wererats as a former city watch member? How do we prevent the guild from using this same trick?"

No, not if you are burning slots after the long rest, I had thought we were rewinding this to do the speak with dead before the long rest.
[OoC: I had one left, before the long rest. Doing it again would cost one of the renewed slots.]
OOC: Then I say we let Jaya rest in peace.
"Okay, so apparently Yek is not aligned with the guild. Let's see what is in this silver chest. I suspect the key that was around Shunn's neck will open it. We can empty the chest and if we can find some way to get the key into Yek's lair, we can set him up to take the fall for Shunn attacking us. Also, we need to do a full investigation of this area in addition to the bodies."
The kenku nods and opens his spellbook. He quietly begins reciting the ritual for Detecting Magic before anyone approaches the chest.
[If not obvious, ritually casts Detect Magic]
He may also be able to sense anything "hidden" nearby. Once finished, he carefully approaches the chest, looking over it to ensure no traps are hidden from view. It's a silver chest, after all. Even if the valuable it holds is useless, the silver itself is a valuable material.
[After ritual is complete, use Investigation w/advantage via Kenku Recall to scope out the chest, look for traps/hidden details: (10, 25)]
After completing the ritual, Nikkitch does not perceive anything out of the ordinary in the weave around here. The small chest innocently stands on the table, completely mundane. A thorough investigation using his many reference points from memory tells the kenku that this chest has no hidden traps or mechanics to worry about. Embossings on the sides of the chest show a stylized dragon in flight. If sold, it should fetch a decent price.
The chest opens without complaint. Within, Pisgah beholds a respectable pile of dragons*, decorated with various popular motifs such as nobles, architecture and great beasts. You count 350 gp.
Pisgah pulls out the gold pieces and hands around 70GP to each member. To ArdneK, he says "You came late to the party but you still joined the dance and jumped in to stop that thug. It wasn't your fight yet but your help was much appreciated." as he also hands 70 gold over to the small Kobold.
He then goes over to the chest and picks it up to move it off the pedestal, as he does "ArdneK, do you think this chest would fit in that little room you told us about? Can you get it in there?". OOC: how heavy is the chest and how large is it?

He turns back to the others, ensuring someone's made a note of what's been spoken so far before continuing with the fourth question.
"Where. Is. Xanathar's. Base. Of operations. Here?"
Shunn answers: "Xanathar's base is in Skullport."
Having satisfied the prerequisite questions, Nikkitch attempts to confirm his preconception with his final question.
"The. Stone key. You. Mentioned. What. Do. You. Know. Of. It?"
The corpse gathers its remaining strength to answer: "It's a magical object we found in the rubble here. Some dwarvish writing on it. I don't know what it opens, but I'm sure it's important."

[Yeah, it would be flavor. There is no easily way of getting armor proficiency outside of class progression. As opposed to languages and tools, which can be trained during downtime.]
"Do. You. Want. To. Risk. One. Less. Fireball, if. Things. Get. Hairy. Again?"
[OoC: they use the same slots.]

OOC: Catching up on the private thread....
Pisgah, seeing the go ahead sign from Nikk, takes Shunn's silver key and unlocks the chest.
The chest opens without complaint. Within, Pisgah beholds a respectable pile of dragons*, decorated with various popular motifs such as nobles, architecture and great beasts. You count 350 gp.

[Since it's made mostly of silver, it's quite heavy at 70 pounds. The dimensions are 2 feet wide, 1 foot deep and 1 foot high]
He'll be encumbered when he picks it up, but he should still be able to enter his vessel and leave it there if you like.
