In the past few months, I started a PBP game here on DBB called Dark God’s Dread. Sadly, due to time restraints and general business of life, one of our players had to drop out. So, I am recruiting another player, as our group is down to three. The group lost a Cleric, and now the party consists of a Bladesinger Wizard, a Stars Druid, and a Divine Soul Sorcerer, so whatever character you think fits will be fine to play
Without further ado, I give you the premise of the game:
The world is cursed, enclaves of humanity (well, humanoids) isolated, assailed by horrible monsters. No one knows what caused these attacks, some speculate it is punishment from some god, others say the beasts were created as a weapon by humanity. Whatever the truth, civilization is dying, the last sparks of hope about to burn out. The leaders of different enclaves have banded together in a last ditch effort to save all of intelligent life from the terrors of the night. The strongest, smartest, & most skilled individuals throughout the enclaves have been gathered, furnished with the finest of gear, and sent out into the darkness to face the monsters and put a stop to their spread. Those heroes are you.
As for Expectations about the game:
1. I will expect a post at least once every 48 hours out of combat. Failure to do so will give you a warning. In combat, when it is your turn, if you do take it within 24 hours, I will bot for you and you will receive a warning. Three warnings will result in expulsion from the game. If life gets in the way, and you will be unable to post, notify me in the OOC thread and I will take note of that and not issue you warnings. (for some reason I felt like I worded that whole thing horribly. I hope you can understand my ramblings)
2. Keep it chill. Don't be an butthole, keep swearing and vulgarity to a minimum, make it PG 13 AT MOST. There will be some gore involved in the game, and horror aspects will be present. If you ever feel uncomfortable in the game, simply send me a PM saying "X" and I will move on as fast as possible, then reach out and try to find a solution.
3. Try cool things. Don't be afraid to try crazy plans, The more epic and wacky, the more likely I am to set the DC not at 30 (You can always TRY, but whether you succeed or not is a different story).
If that interests you, you can applybelow in the Following Format(failure to respond incorrectly will indicate to me that you have not read my full instructions, and will result in your being disqualified from consideration for the game. If you cannot take the time to read one post, you do not have the time to keep up with the game)
-Character Stats: Roll in this thread, reroll ones always

-Character Class(es) and Subclass(es): Your character starts at level six. Multi-classing is allowed and encouraged.

-Magic Items: you can start with 1 Very Rare, 2 rare, or 3 Uncommon Magic items, as well as 3 Common Magic Items (*cough* you should choose healing potions *cough*) of your choice.
In addition, if you wish, you can add any of the following entries to your application:
-Image or description of your Character: A one paragraph or description, or an image you found or made yourself (Heroforge is fine)

My decision will be made by May 9th, and I will PM the player who got in, and close this thread when I do. If you have any questions, just ask me
Good luck, heroes, you shall need it in the trials ahead!
Aeriisa, a devout healer(cleric) of her Owlin tribe, possesses a heart as boundless as the sky above. With feathers of white, gold and grey, and eyes reflecting the wisdom of her people, she was known for her compassion and skill in mending both body and spirit. Yet, beneath her nurturing demeanor lay an ember of curiosity. Aeriisa embarked on a journey that would lead her far beyond the cliffs of her home. Leaving behind the safety of her healer’s nest, she spread her wings wide, embracing a life of adventure.
writing example:: one fateful night as Aeriisa knelt in prayer, a sinister presence crept into her chamber - a fiendish creature known as Azazel, who offered to fulfill Aeriisa’s deepest wish of the people in her city being free from oppression and suffering, in exchange for her soul. Though tempted by the fiends offer, Aeriisa’s heart remained steadfast. She recognized the dark undercurrents of Azazel’s proposal. She refused the fiends offer, her faith shielding her from its corruptive influence. Enraged by her defiance, Azazel lunged forward, but Aeriisa’s divine power surged forth, repelling the creature with holy light banishing Azazel Back to the depths from whence he came.

-Character Race and Subrace (if applicable): Beast-kin (Leonin)
-Character Class(es) and Subclass(es): Paladin Conquest 6
-Character Background and Backstory: Soldier. (Mobile feat)
Flax was abducted from his nomadic Leonin tribe at a young age, thrust into a life of slavery and warfare. As a soldier slave, he endured unimaginable hardships, his spirit unbroken but his beliefs challenged. When ordered to commit an atrocity that went against everything he believed in, Flax chose to flee, seeking freedom and a chance to find his own path.
Now a fugitive from his past, Flax roams the land far from his home, haunted by memories of war and captivity. Despite the darkness that shadows his past, he remains steadfast in his belief that might makes right, wielding his sword with purpose as he seeks redemption and a new beginning in a region where his strength and convictions will be tested anew.
-Magic Items: 3 Uncommon Magic items: Longsword of Warning, Mithril Plate, Amulet of Devotion +1.
3 Common Magic Items: Ruby of Warmage, Potion of Healing x2.
Flax stood before the evil fiend, his mind wrestling with conflicting desires. His greatest wish, he realized, was not for power or dominance, but for the strength to protect and defend the weak. The fiend's offer tempted him with the power to crush his enemies, but Flax knew that true strength lay in compassion.
With a firm resolve, Flax rejected the fiend's offer, his sword raised high. "My desire is to defend the helpless, not to dominate them. I will not succumb to your temptations," he declared "nor will anyone else!" With a thunderous roar, Flax charged, his sword gleaming in the dim light.

A wildman, more or less. He kills a beast, he wants to eat said beast. He kills one of the monsters, well... I guess that depends if they used to be humanoids, but you get the point. He wants his forest back and if these warriors (the party) are capable of "fixing" things, he'll throw his weight in with their lot. Free spirit, with a touch of first movie Shrek, if that makes sense. He's a predatory character. If that won't work, then that's probably it for me.

-Magic Items: Mithral Plate, Blood Spear (fitting as left by the creature that created him, but can change out if needed), Sentinel Shield
-Image or description of your Character: A large man in full plate, he moves surprisingly quietly. His shield is adorned with symbols of the Moon Goddess and he typically covers himself with a black cloak. He is relatively pale, and doesn't smile often.

-Writing Example: "I am sorry, I will pass on this meal. You see, I have a hunger, but it is different. I must satisfy this another way." Klueglarin heads out leaving his comrades. He hasn't given in and drained a humanoid, and will look for a small rodent or perhaps a rabbit, anything to quench his thirst. He prays to the Moon Goddess to keep him strong....
