Only hit 1 time in 11 tries, and the statues hit 5 times in last 6 tries. (Average would be 6/11 and 2.5/6.)
Normally, when the dice roller is skewing this bad, I’d retreat. But since this is the boss fight, guess I should keep whiffing away.
(I'm just venting my frustration. I realize with the number of players on D&DB and the number of fights, a streak with 0.03% of happening will happen, but this is a terrible time to hit the anti-jackpot.)
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
A Wand of Magic Missiles: While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast the magic missile spell from it.
Wand of Viscid Globs: While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges to cause a small glob of viscous material to launch from the tip at one creature within 60 feet of you. Make a ranged attack roll against the target, ...
So... The only applicable 'actions' from Haste would be Attack and Use an Object. But the Activating an Item section says items that require actions aren't considered Use an Object.
So it would have to be considered an Attack. I looked at a Wand of Magic Missiles as an example, and that one clearly says use an action to cast a spell.
Where the Wand of Viscid Globs says to use an action to roll a ranged attack and glob launches from the tip.
Bravo! A hasted Rodolfo gets to fire two globs per turn while hasted!
I didn't know about the "Activating an Item / Use an Item" details. Thanks for posting it.
(I suspect I will get it wrong many times in the future before the rule sinks in.)

Beegred thanks Thurnir. "That helps a lot. I'd be in a lot of trouble without your aid."
Asking if I can get Inspiration for the Ideal: We have to take care of each other, because no one else is going to do it.
If the answer is "yes", I'm going to use it right away to re-roll that first missed attack. (Got to use Hunter's Mark before concentration is lost again.)

You've already used it. According to my notes, in OOC 2848. You have to use all your other Ideals, Traits, Bonds and Flaws before you can reuse it.
Since it's been a long time since anyone has asked for inspiration, and I am probably remiss in not telling Thurnir about it, the 'rules' are simple:
If the actions, words or deeds in your post align with your Personality Traits, Ideals, Bonds or Flaws, you can ask for inspiration here in OOC. As long as it's not a stretch, I'll grant it. The catch is you can't reuse the same trait, ideal, bond or flaw until you have asked for inspiration from each one first.
Here's my table to remind everyone (sorry if this is divulging your character's personality):
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Skameros will continue to swing at L3 (if that one goes down he'll attack K3)
[Greataxe: 24 Damage: 14 slashing damage]
[Greataxe: 24 Damage: 12 slashing damage]
And if one of those hits his divine fury will proc for 6 radiant damage.
7 slashing damage for the crit
EDIT - I have no clue why when I edit it - it keeps rerolling everything - so um take whatever the rolls end up being
If you've already made rolls in a post and then edit, you HAVE to add your new rolls to the end. You can't add any new rolls in the middle.
I assume you're not using the forum's rolling macro because you're posting from a cell phone? If that's the case, is it possible to roll from your character sheet via the game log then just summarize the result in a post? I'd prefer to have to go look up the results in the game log than see 'manipulated' warnings in a forum thread.
As for Skameros's post, I don't see any crits, although he edited the thread to add a roll for crit damage. So that's gone.
Please track your HP on your character sheet. I'm controlling an 'intelligent' creature and knowing who is more hurt should factor into the decisions it makes. With the pace of PBP, it's too much for me to remember how much damage each of you have taken.
I've gone back in the thread and I found 20 hp worth of damage and applied it to your sheet. If you got any healing, please point it out and update as necessary.
FYI, I haven't made any changes that I can remember. At most I may apply a long rest if I see your sheets aren't up to date at the beginning of a battle.
No one else but me (the campaign owner) and yourself should be able to make changes to your character sheet.

Wow, what a rabbit hole that sent me into.
Wasn't sure if using the wand twice via Haste was allowed... Here's what I found:
Haste: That action can be used only to take the Attack (one weapon attack only), Dash, Disengage, Hide, or Use an Object action.
Activating an Item: If an item requires an action to activate, that action isn't a function of the Use an Object action

Thurning... Donning a shield requires a full action. See HERE.
Rodolfo, that one misses. But you have 2 actions because of Haste?
Oh sorry, ok no shield then :)
thought it counted as an “interaction”. Someone should tell Captain America. :)
Aha, yeah, didn't know if it hits or not. Should I post a retcon then or use the ray of frost attack as the second attempt to shoot the wand at O4?
If you have charges left in your wand, you can use it again. Or you can cast Ray of Frost. Up to you.
Beegred. Seems odd you rolled your concentration check but didn't play your turn?

Okay. I think I’d been doing that but found stuff marked on my sheet that I hadn’t applied, so I started leaving it alone.

Btw, it's Orubis's turn.
Well… no more third level slots and Orubis won’t stand for long against those rocks.
Paladin - warforged - orange
Rodolfo has slots left - back off with Orubis and we will see how things progress.
