[OOC okay, I have got it - we are a loose confederacy - we are not a military unit. However what is the point of having a handleader if no-one is going to be led.]]
[OOC: It depends on the character and also the situation. Luca had an Advantage that he decided to take. Dora can dress him down later, if you want. The most important thing to realise here is that it is only your own character that you have absolute control over.]

Given he was just in intense concentration I assume all Guilliame can do is try to look around and see what is going on.
Perception roll (if relevent): 12
[OOC: We are in combat and it is Dora's turn at the end of the first round. Guilliame was surprised and so didn't get to act in the first round, but will be first to act in the next round at which point he will be able to do whatever you want.]
[OOC let me see if I have this right. Dora and Luca both heard something and reacted but as Luca had a higher initiative he could act first. Dora can talk all she wants but she has to act after him. So in that case Dora is still on the platform not racing down the steps and thrusting a burning brand underneath. So it is a basically a case of retract all that Dora did and starting afresh.]
I am not sure what Luca saw but I run to the cabin, scimitar at the ready. I hope it is just a rat.

[OOC: Correct. Dora can now act with full knowledge of what she saw Luca do and say.]
I am not sure what Luca saw but I run to the cabin, scimitar at the ready. I hope it is just a rat.
[OOC: However, I will clarify the situation and point out that Luca struck at something below the level of the platform (which is 2–3' off the ground), so whatever he struck at is under the floor that Dora is standing on. This means racing down the steps and moving to the left-hand side of the map to possibly intercept whatever it is makes more sense than running to the cabin.
Is that what you want Dora to do? She will have enough movement to do this (i.e., 30') and still be able to attack something if you think it is warranted.]

I grab a burning brand from the fire and run outside down the steps, I hold the brand beneath the platform hoping to see what it is that is there. The brand in my foremost hand, my scimitar at the ready in my other hand.
Combat Nitty Gritty: In a combat round a character gets the following: 1 Move, 1 Action, 1 Bonus Action(if they have such an Action that is applicable), 1 Free Object interaction, and there are some things that can also be done for free—such as speaking and dropping things held in the hand. A character also has what is called a Reaction, which are specific things that can be done when it is not there turn. One of these is an Attack of Opportunity. (If either of you want to find out more about combat, you should be able to read the Players Handbook online through the 'Sources' tab at the top of the D&D Beyond page. This link should also work).
Also, on the plan you should see that there is a grid of squares on the background. These squares are 5' on a side and are used to determine how far a character can Move in a combat turn.
Given the above, the description of your turn can be described as follows (Dora already has her sword, drawn as that was part of the action that started the whole fight).
Dora's movement is 30', which means she can effectively Move 6 squares. This will not get her to the end of the platform if she goes to pick up the burning brand. However, she can also Move as her action, meaning she can Move a total of 12 squares in her turn (and she can pick up the burning brand from the fire as her one Free Action).
This means she will get to the end of the platform at the end of the round but not be able to do anything until her next turn except use her Reaction for an Attack of Opportunity. From memory, something similar to this happened in the chase across the cattle yard.
Speaking of which...]
Grabbing a [OOC: conveniently recently added... I'm being nice here] brand from the barrel in which the fire is burning, Dora rushes down the stairs and to the cabin end of the platform where she sees a familiar figure partway out from under the platform.
It is the young man she chased across the cattle yard.
Looking up in terror at the sword she is holding, he puts up his hands and screams, "No! I give up."
[OOC: 2nd Round
It is now Guilliame's and Jack's turn at Initiative 15; Guilliame can move before Jack because of his higher Dexterity, but that is not relevant in this case because of Andrew's stated action.
]
Shaken from his concentrating on his ritual, Guilliame looks up in surprise as Jack draws his scimitar and steps protectively to his side as ordered.
[OOC:
Technically, Jack is now holding his Action ready to Attack anything that might come close enough to threaten Guilliame.
The result of Guilliame's Perception check gives no more information than has previously been revealed and for the sake of brevity I am going to assume that Guilliame does not Move during his turn.
The rest of the hand now takes their turns (as described below) and the fugitive under platform surrenders, which brings us to Dora's turn and unless she wants to actually attack the young man she has discovered we will drop out of combat at this point.
]
Dora is soon joined by Barrus, Alice and Luca, who all have their weapons prepared and pointed at the young man who is partway from under the platform and holding his hands up in protection.
[OOC: I have a busy day today, so I won't be able to respond to any further moves until lunch time at the earliest, or more likely after 4pm.]

The young man complies with Dora's orders as Alice goes off to get a set of the post's manacles.
"Do not hurt me," he says, his face in the dirt. "I just wanted to get me stuff back."
He sounded a little defiant when he says this, but when Guilliame threatens to turn him into a toad, he begins to whimper.
Alice soon returns with manacles, hammer and split pins and in short order the fugitive soon has manacles on his hands.
"I just wanted my stuff," the young man says, sniffling as he pulled out from under the platform. "I will be in trouble if I do not bring them back with me."
[OOC: Dora is of the opinion he is not exactly telling the truth.]
Luca grins and then sheathes his sword before placing the bloodied knuckles of his sword hand into his mouth to suck [This is the sort of thing that happens when you roll a 1 for your attack; it is called a 'Fumble'.]
"Come here you," says Barrus, dragging the young man to his feet by use of the manacles. "You have some questions to answer."
Dora and Guilliame are soon in the guard post's cabin with the manacled fugitive and the two items of evidence.
[OOC: Now that he is inside, I have now given Guilliame access to the full plan of the guard post on the World Anvil site.
Also, please describe how you want the interrogation setup. For example, there is only one chair and the bed in the room (there are lots more chairs outside), will you keep the door opened or closed, etc.]

As Barrus prepares the room for the interrogation, Guilliame sits back down at the table outside. Taking up his large feather and his pearl again he begins the ritual.
