As the beast comes over and looks at the fruit, sniffing it, the cart is slowly and quietly drawn behind it. There are a couple of snapped twigs, which catches the beast's attention, but it doesn't spy the group narrowly escaping further into the jungle. "Splendid job." Douglas tells the group. "Let's just make a note about that blighter, shall we?" He takes out a ragged looking map and a piece of charcoal, making a little mark. "Maybe take a slightly wider birth on the return journey..." He mentions to himself as they wander.
After the first day of travel, the group can rest finally, the hirelings setting up camp and ensuring that food is provided. Douglas seems to put his feet up, allowing them to carry out the chores as they were hired to. "So, you're all from that group of refugees." He mentions around the campfire. "What made you want to come on this adventure into the deep jungles? I doubt any of you have ever been through tropics like these before, though it best not slow you down." He chortles to himself.
“Thats why i wanted to come, always good to learn new things see different animals. And i am interested in those andient ruins, maybe we can find some lost knowledge there.
(As we skirt around the beast, Tahia's going to try to get a look at any tracks to keep an eye out for as they continue on.)
"I haven't been anywhere like this, no, I'm more at home in a town," Tahia admits. "And I'm not much for the war, either, but I do want to go home again. And to do that we have to do something about the strange magic that was called upon. Lost knowledge, new knowledge, whatever you want to call it. I could use a little of that myself, on a personal level."
"Well, as long as you keep your wits about you and your boots don't get filled with swamp water, you'll do just splendid." Douglas tells the group. The evening continues peacefully, the tents pitched and hirelings take time to feed themselves after the party have done so. Some blocks of special incense are burned around the edges of the camp, used to ward away small insects like mosquitoes. A watch cycle is probably agreed upon between the group, as they are the hired guard.
The sky is lit by the blanket of stars, the moon glimmering off in the distance as the party take turns on watch. As the hours wane towards morning, little glimmers of light seem to emanate from the forest areas, bobbing in the air. Upon inspection they appear to be fireflies, dancing in the nighttime. As it get close to dawn, there is a large unearthly screech that blasts through the area, waking everyone (you can have finished your long rest, so feel free to do that).
"Egads!" Douglas exclaims from his tent. "Can't a tortle get a good night's rest, already?"
With another bellow of that same terrible noise, the group pinpoints it is not far away. It sounds like an angry beast of some sort, or maybe a roar of fear. Following the noise the group spies that in the jungle ahead is two focuses of an eerie emerald glow; a familiar one that pulls into the darkest dreams of the group that have wracked their nights over the past months. Its source must be undead of the Emerald Army of some sort. How it got here is unknown, but it is...
Tahia whispers a quick prayer (Bless, on herself, Gnoll, and one other person who appears to also be heading out (yay, vagaries of asynchronous play)) and heads out with Gnoll. She mimes circling around to flank, making it a question rather than a demand. If Gnoll agrees, she'll head off at an angle to him, but also going towards the eerie green glow.
So with the current global issues thanks to COVID-19 my work time and setup has changed a lot. I will attempt to post when I can, but I may have a day or two of no replies. Apologies if this slows down play more than it already crawls at. Hopefully after a few weeks I can get back into a more constant posting.
Anyway, back to the game.
Gnoll quietly scurries ahead of the group, receiving the blessings of Tahia along the way. The goblin keeps low and spots beyond the next treeline, another huge reptilian creature, its long tail swiping at more glowing green forms; smaller dinosaurs that are showing decay as they grab onto this king of the primordial jungle. It lets out another roar in an attempt to intimidate them, but the undead dinosaurs seem to keep advancing on it.
(Effectively a T-Rex vs. a pack of velociraptor zombies.)
Currently Gnoll is ahead of the rest of the group, but you potentially try a Turn Undead when you are close enough. It's pending whether Gnoll wants to trigger the spell or return to the party first.
Tahia's going to watch, and only jump in if someone else does, or if it looks like the larger creature will either be killed or starts to exhibit the same effects as the smaller ones. Do they appear to be moving in such a way that they'll intersect with the camp, or will they miss it?

Nods at Tahia, but makes sure to stay within maybe 50 to 60 of her.

How many raptors are we talking? Are they all around the T-Rex or more concentrated on one side? How far are they away from me?
14 raptors, swarming it on one side currently. They are about 30 ft. away from Gnoll at this point.
How many of them could i get with a tidal wave 30 by 10 feat AoE?
You could get 4 without hitting the T-Rex, or get all seven dinos in this brawl.
(If you do, we'll be rolling initiative.)
If we get within 30 ft I can try and turn them
