(OOG this is like McDonald's badadadada I am loving it)
So I am going to make assumptions based on what I think you are all wanting. First Talinian tries Acid splash at level 1, the box takes 3 points of acid damage, and Talinian you are sure, 100 times over that this was the largest acid splash you have cast with this much power, but it does not make the kind of impact you thought it would and as soon as it hits the box you feel a small point on your arm burning as you take 1 point of acid damage.
Mia, after the acid splash hits, you take your turn, with the blade, you take your time and move around, you look the box up and over, again and again, then you prepare yourself, giving yourself a little inspiration, a little prayer and you swing.
Radiant light reflects back, burning a random pattern from the palm of her hands, up along the full length of her arms, shoulders, chest and neck. They may scar. Mialee grunts, staggering a little as she does her best to recover from the blow. Chest heaving from the shock and reverberation, the warrior tries her best to correct her posture as to not concern her companions. A little at loss at what to suggest, Mia would inhale deep calming breaths in intervals, concentrating on mending.
(If resting is appropriate for what's coming, she'd do that. Otherwise she'd heal herself to be ready for the next step.)

ooc: I didn't think this was damage Mia took. Was it?
(Oh sorry. I read it as it would reflect back and the damaged rolled was for her. So went RP fluff with it. Sorry. Posted for nothing. Disregard then. Guess she'll just stand there.)
"Ow," the tiefling wizard mutters under his breath. He shows the other the large red welt on his arm. As wounds go, it's not much, but the ratio of damage is deeply troubling. "Well, those tests were highly informative. First, I am completely certain that my spell would have done two or three times as much damage as it did, had the target not been protected. Second, I received perhaps as much as a third of the damage the box actually suffered, so perhaps I am thankful so little of the spell actually affected the box. Third, it appears acid has some affect on the box. Next I suggest we try a more mundane source of acid and see what affect that has. We should be careful as we would not wish the acid to damage the contents. Lastly, direct physical attack appears to be useless. Thoughts?"
(OOC - Bones doesn't have acid, but does have Bagpipes of Ooze that may or may not be of assistance in summoning an ooze to perhaps offer some acidic supplies.)
"Well I guess we'll have to wait until we can stop for supplies," Bones scratches his beard. "Perhaps we can find some slighter acids to play with here."
Sorry I missed this. So I am going to assume that we are going to pause the experments on the box. And move on to the old school. its not a hard path, to follow, you do have to fight off a few hungry animals along the way but nothing major.
Let me get a perceotion or investigation check along the way, seeing as I am sure that you all are keep eyes out for any type of ambush you might run into.
You clean your tracks the whole way. Your eyes peeled, you find nothing odd most of the way. You find a set of footprints that you are kind of following because they are heading to the old school. Then you find something odd, a second set of footprints, one seems to be smaller than the prints that you were originally following, one set goes up a hill that Talinian most likely recognizes, it leads to a cliff that overlooks the old school. You are sure that the larger prints are that of the Magus. Baltor flies down and pecks at you a bit in a line, then pauses and pecks a little softer following the same line, then the harder pecks, another pause then the soft pecks this time the line goes in a slightly different direction, to the cliff, then Beltor shakes their head no a few times.
ooc: Why doesn't Baltor simply tell me what's going on? He's a familiar, not a trained owl? I'm guessing he doesn't want us to follow the footprints going to the cliff, yes? Also, I'm not sure which sets are going where. I think one set is leading to the old school and one set is leading to a cliff that overlooks the school?
