OOC: Sounds like the vote is a long rest! Let's establish a watch order that we can use as the default going forward, so that hopefully this is the only time that we have to stop and wait to determine that. If the party would like to establish a watch, each character can keep watch for up to two hours during a long rest.
Also of note, from post #851, there were 28 silver pieces found on the bodies of the humans that I believe went unclaimed.
Smoke will move around the camp first making sure the raiders campfire will keep going for a while before moving up the slope. Making sure the raiders area is lit atleast a part of the night.
We should move at first light. I will take third watch. He turns to find a place to put his bedroll and moves towards it but turns before placing it. Rest well, we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow.
After that he will place his bedroll down and lie down trying to get some rest.
(ooc making sure Smoke goes on a nightshift since he has darkvision)
If we're taking darkvision into account, then I suppose Rogram should take second watch.
I suppose the kobolds weren't carrying anything of note (Rogram had stomped over to search them).
When Rogram hears that the others have decided to stop for the night, he grumbles to himself, but doesn't make his displeasure known ... outright. He follows, not saying more than a few words while climbing and preparing to sleep until he is woken for his watch.
During his watch, aside from watching, he also cleans his sword, has a mental (imaginary) argument with his mother, and spends 10 to 15 minutes practicing sword techniques, but finds the practice less pleasurable than it did just a couple of days before.
When it comes time to wake Smoke, he does so a little rougher than is absolutely necessary.
Yevele will take the last watch. From her time in the monastery, she is used to getting up early. When she wakes up, she will spend some time working on her martial arts, both with the quarter staff and without.
When it is time to set out, she will offer to scout ahead of the party and see dangers may lie ahead of them.
Thia will take whichever watch she is offered. She can see in the dark. She is very slow to get out of bed in the morning, however, appearing grumpy and dishevelled. She is missing civilization and a good book.
Thrax will take the next available watch, eager to get this turn out of the way so he can rest. He spends much of night in quiet meditation, trying to steel himself for the trials he knows lie ahead.

Searching over the kobolds before setting camp, Rogram finds, among the pouches full of rocks and cheap daggers that they wield, a sack containing pewter candlesticks, some silver serving dishes, and a few religious carvings of Chauntea that he recognizes from the sanctuary in Greenest.
The night passes peacefully, as none of the watches spot any activity in the glade below or anywhere else atop the mesa. A sunny but chilly morning wakes you as Yevele's watch concludes.
OOC: Each character has gained 60 XP for defeating the humans and kobolds in the camp. Characters have gained the benefits of a long rest. Thrax can spend some time this morning to switch his prepared spells if he would like.
Don't forget about the 28 silver pieces that were found as well. I typically split up coinage that is found by default but only once it is confirmed that the loot is being taken.
Waking up Smoke shivers a moment after he just got out of his bedroll. Getting used to the lower temperature again as he looks to the skies to see the sun light the land. When folding up his bedroll he watches Rogram for a moment. Still remembering the rude wake up he got. Unsure about why the angry dwarf did not like him. The only thing clear about him was his lack of manners.
With his things packed up he reaches in his bag for some food pulling out some bread. He moves towards the ledge again looking at the camp to see if its still the same as the night before. A few moments pass before he turns around towards the group again. Are we ready to go? We didnt see any patrols so the army must be further away.
Smoke will wait a bit for the others but at some point will get impatient and speak up again. We should get moving soon, who knows how far away their main camp is.
(ooc i think Thia/Rogram searched the bodies so i assume they will handle or mention the silver/loot)
OOC: As Rogram recognized what he found as belonging to the sanctuary, he won't mention it to the others; he's planning to just return it once he gets back to Greenest. The coins, however, were found by Thia on the human while Rogram wasn't around, so he doesn't know anything about them.
The next morning, Rogram is still unusually quiet as he is packing up, but doesn't appear angry so much as grumpy. His gaze strays to Smoke more often than anyone else, but the half-dwarf avoids eye contact. He grunts affirmation at the question of leaving, but when the tabaxi asks about direction, the bard looks to Thia to convey what she might have learned on that subject when interrogating the kobolds.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While the others are getting up and preparing to move out, Yevele will walk over to the edge of the mesa and look out to see if she can see the army or any evidence for the path it took.
If she can't tell which path the army took, the monk will suggest that they head back down to the valley and continue following it in the direction they were going before they spotted the fire.
Thia takes a long time to get out of her cosy bedroll in the morning. Probably to the annoyance of a few - certainly of Rogram. She is a grumpy riser and short-tempered. However, once she has fully stretched and woken and eaten, she settles down. Eating a full breakfast and finishing it off with a shiny apple she is soon ready for the day. Over breakfast, she will mention the silver coins she found (OOC: sorry, I thought they'd automatically be split, she's 100% happy for them to be split up).
"I don't have any extra information of significance," she tells the group. "I agree with the plan of just following on in the direction we've been going. It seems unlikely that the army will suddenly pull a right-angle and go off a different way - and even if they do, there were enough of them that it should be easy enough to follow them, right?"
Thia is soon ready to head off - though has probably single-handedly delayed the group by taking ages to get out of her bedroll.
OOC: Added Religious Carvings to Rogram's inventory. Added 5 sp to each character's inventory. There are 3 silver pieces left over to be claimed.
Even after a day of tracking the raiders, Yevele is able to find their trail easily. The swath of trampled grass continues southeast through the foothills as far as the eye can see.
OOC: Once the party is ready to resume travel, the marching order will be as follows, unless someone wants to switch things up:
Front - Thrax, Smoke, Yevele Middle - Thia Back - Rogram
"Let's move out," Thia suggests, pulling yet another apple from her pouch and shining it on her trousers. I am going to run out of these soon. I wonder if the army quartermaster has a supply?
Wind whistles through the hills as the trio of Thrax, Yevele and Smoke follow the trampled trail through hill and dale. Hours pass peacefully with no additional sign of the raiding army's presence in sight. The trail continues to wind through the hills.
For Thrax, Smoke, and Yevele:
You have all spotted an area ahead, where the trail winds through a gap between two outcrops, that is a good spot for an ambush. The gap is 100 yards away from you.
Thraxsquints into the distance as he spies the outcrop ahead. "Bessst proceed carefully here." he says gesturing at the gap in front of them which could leave them vulnerable to an ambush. "Perhaps we can take a short detour and cut through the woods to avoid such an exposed position? Failing that, we should at least proceed with the utmost caution..."

Yevele will look around for a path around the outcrops. If it is possible to climb up onto the mesa again, she will attempt to do so, trying to do it in a spot where she won't be clearly visible to people hiding in the outcrops. perception20stealth7
Smoke heeds Thrax's words. Perhaps your right Thrax.
Seeing Yevele climb up Smoke will decide to follow her. He will follow her up onto the outcrops climbing if he has to. Once he is on top he will keep his distance. Just to make sure someone has eyes on Yevele as she scouts ahead while also staying in sight of the others below.
Yevele and Smoke scramble up the rocks to the side of the outcrop, Yevele using them for cover as she steps carefully forward.
For Yevele:
As you near the spot on the higher part of the outcropping that rests above the trail, you spot the presence of another person, wearing a black tunic. They have a spear and shield strapped to them, and are looking away from you into the trail.
