Book considers the spell for a moment, looking up from the thick tome he was perusing. His familiar, Noctua, sat on his shoulder in the shape of a snowy owl. He was the very image of a stereotypical wizard. "That is, mostly correct. That spell creates a mostly safe place, but it is not impervious to damage or other problems." His voice taking on a professorial tone.
"If you wish, I can teach you additional spells that can be useful for protection, both while resting and, if you should have need of it, in combat. Though I hope a child such as yourself would have no need of such spells for a long time, if ever."
Krusk gives a slack jawed gaze around the dome before shaking to, walking over to a wall, and sitting down cross legged . He props his glaive against the wall, roots around in his pocket for a piece of charcoal, and pulls out a battered journal he had hidden on his person. He begins looking people up and down, if any of them notice he'll quickly look down and continue scribbling in his journal. After a few minutes he notices a ring sitting on the floor nearby, which he toys with before putting on.
After a few weeks of travel, the group is hot on the trail of the renegade wizard Nass Lantomir. The trail has led them to the gates of the towns of Targos. Book declares it before midday when the groups arrive (Though the ever-present darkness gives no impression of another day).
Sandow and Shakira are out front a bit keeping a sharp eye. Cyr Signus flying above doing a overhead recon and looking out for upcoming threats. She signals to Sandow whenever travelers are encountered up ahead.
Krusk and Moxie are in the four-mule wagon keeping a sharp eye. in the wagon Book is keeping both Pepsi and Lilith entertained while slipping in bits of knowledge and moral lessons. Books familiar sitting on a perch on the wagon built for it by Krusk. The rear, being brought up by Belthran the Goliath who is listening to the lessons quietly and noting bits and pieces himself.
Like Bryn Shander, Targos is encircled by a wooden wall, which helps to protect the town against orcs and other threats from the wilderness. The wall extends out into the lake, creating a safe harbor for the town’s boats. But now Auril’s long winter has frozen the water in the harbor, and many of Targos’s boats are trapped in the ice. Fishers must drag their smaller vessels across the ice to get to the unfrozen lake beyond the harbor walls.
Almost all the towns in Icewind Dale make their living off the lakes, but nowhere is that fact more evident than in Targos. The town has always had the biggest fishing fleet and the biggest fishing industry, and everything that goes on here revolves around hauling the knucklehead trout out of Maer Dualdon. Auril’s endless winter makes the work harder, but it gets done, nonetheless.
(OOC: This an excellent opportunity to re-fit, re-supply, and upgrade equipment. also, in addition to the funds offered by Herne, the Miners awarded the group a gift of ore valued at 500gp as a thank you for leading the rebellion).
Syr Cygnus will shop around for some javelins, a quiver for them and perhaps a heavy cross bow and bolts, both quiver bolt case with a rig that she can use to secure them to Sarang's harness. She will offer the short bow to any party member that wants it, if no one does she will sell it or trade it for some javelins or bolts, whichever is the better deal. She will also see about getting some boiled leather barding for Sarang. She will spend some time with Sarang, getting her use to the new equipment, practicing with the heavy crossbow (if she finds one) in aerial assault and 'dog-fighting'. Also, it occurs to her that it would be a good idea to acquire some scrolls - if possible:
2 Cure Wounds
2 Bless
And 2 potions of Healing.
If necessary, in lieu of coin, Syr Cygnus will use her innate Paladin abilities to Bless, Marry, Purify Food and Drink and Detect Magic on anything folks might want identified; should any folk be in serious need of healing she will do so without charge to those who cannot afford it, i.e. who ain't rich. She will hold rituals in Tyr's name for any and all who wish to attend; encouraging folks to accept Tyr as their deity.

Before the party disperses into town to gather supplies and creature comforts, Sandow will let everyone know: "The last time I ... did business in this area, certain contacts of mine let me know that he Zhentarim have a foothold in the Ten Towns. There was some talk at the time that the town militia commander and the Town Speaker were involved. Just a word of caution."
You are all staying at the Pendelwhyte tavern and inn (commonly known as "The Pendle"). It has he distinction of actually having Two large suites That would easily accomodate a Goliath.
You may all make arrrangements for rooms as it suites you.
Lily wants to shop around but doesn't really know how to, so she'll ask someone to take her. She'll buy some fine clothes and perfume if they're available. If she happens to pass by food vendors she'll buy whatever tasty food they sell since she wants quality rations.
If possible, she will definitely exploit shops for extra food and free things by being a cute child.
Belthran will attempt to negotiate a discount for a suite in exchange for entertaining the patrons of the "Pendle" (OOC he's aiming for a 100% discount; persuasion14), not that persuasion is his forté, nor performance truth be known.
Seeing the ice-locked boats in the harbour, Belthran feels a pang of remorse for the life he left behind...
From here, the Shaengarne River flows West, before snaking its way to join the mighty Redrun on the latter's tumultous journey from the Reghed Glacier to the Sea of Moving Ice. Here lies the Dwarvish stronghold of Ironmaster. None other than a dwarf will ever set foor in that magnificent, flawed city, where the river rushes through a deep canyon of rock and ice in a series of cascades and waterfalls, throwing up freezing froth as it bashes against massive spires of rock that rise from the riverbed. Ironmaster is built in these spires and into the walls of the canyon, its tunnels and towers strung together by high bridges and cliff-side walkways.
Ironmaster is also the destination for valuable cargos of unrefined Teurnish adamantite ore. Though conditions on Tuern are even more severe than the other islands in the Frozenfar, the Tuernish are wealthier by far than other Northmen, since the volcanic activity produces both enormous diamonds and the purist adamantite ore. This ore is transported via the port of Gundbarg on the isle of Gundarlun, where it is transferred from the Northfolk's vessels to those of greedy-eyed Dwarven sea-merchants.
In fact, almost every ship to cross the Trackless Sea stops at Gundbarg to take on fresh water and food, make repairs, replace crew, or exchange goods. The port city affords all manner of services desired by seafarers, with inns, taverns, drydocks, sailmakers, and warehouse space aplenty. It was easy for one warrior-sailor to disappear amongst so many similar souls. Likewise, it did not take many evenings carousing in the harbour's Dragon Turtle Inn to find a captain in need of a skilled navigator for the passage to Luskan. The rest, as they say, is history.
For Lily --For the most part Lily finds the demeanor of the townfolk rude and dismissive. eventually she can attribute it to the dark depressive environment. nohing like the soft clean snowy starry meadows she is used too. Even her mushroom friends in the cavern seem happier.
For Belthren---He does in fact stike a nice deal for free lodging and meals in exchange for Two performances at one at noon and then at 7pm. The appeal of a Goliath Bard is sure to attract business. the propetier believes.
His accommodation secured, Belthran embarks on some light recreational shopping. He replenishes his stock of hard tack rations, and scouts out what there is in the way of armour smiths and horse traders. In the case of the latter, he's looking for a draft horse (or a camel).
He will be sure to let anyone he speaks to know of the performance at the Pendle later in the day. He won't say what it is, other than a cryptic reference to a "Northern saga".
Sandow would like to buy some nice clothes, replenish his arrows, and get his armor repaired and cleaned. He'd also like to look into acquiring another set of lockpicks, turn some of his gold into gem stones for easier transport and hiding on his person. Additionally, anything his new familiar might need in both her forms. - While I'd love to have some better armor, I've got the best that I can have (non magical) without taking penalties to my core abilities. With my new bag of holding, I'd also like to stock up on a few things we frequently run short on - more arrows, potable water/wine/beer, rope, a ladder, torches, oil.

Armor his size is apparently impossible to find. Metal armor in any size is non existent.
Possibly some leathers with studs added.
Other equipment is not a problem. Use prices previously discussed. You will find a draft horse suitable at full PHB price.
For Sandow--All prices are as discussed earlier. All items available. 5% cost to transfer to gems. Shakira likes sweets. Iced creams are a favorite. Soft furs for a bed in the wagon would be nice.
> Lily will ask Belthran if she can ride atop his shoulders
Belthran's discomfort with this is palpable. Nonetheless, he plays the role of "uncle" with commendable forbearance, before making his excuses that he must prepare for his performance.
Belthran is grateful of the chance to take a rest after his period of captivity and the ensuing battle.
