Talion watches as the two heavily armoured men of God flee the room at breakneck pace. He winks at Ervan "I'm sure they'll be back. One of them, anyway..."
His gaze turns serious at he assesses the possibility it getting past the creature that fills the doorway, dwarfing the elf, so to speak.
Ervan feels a malign presence build around him then engulf the door, a slight chill raising the hairs on the back of his neck, before a bolt of arcane energy flies from Talion's outstretched hand toward the door.
Not waiting to see the results of his handiwork, Talion turns on his heel, following the others toward the other door to the mimics room.
Hex (Str): hoping it will affect the DC to escape the grapple
The BFF crew get to H12 (Onyx) and H13 or G12 (Sho).
Talion releases his bolt at the door but, conscious of the wriggling elf, his blast just misses the definitely-not-a-door-and-never-was-one-mimic! Miss! Talion hightails it as far as he can go. (E14).
The mimic grins, "Nom, nom, nom, eam eam eam!" The smell is gag-inducing and there is a strong smell of sulfur. "Mmmmm," the mimic intones and proceeds to try to bite Erven! Attack:25Damage:12 piercing damage, plus 7 acid damage.
Erven, you're up! You can attempt to break free (Athletics or Acrobatics, DC13 - disadvantage; OR you can attack).
Erven is struggling, near unconscious, on deaths door. He uses inspiration and his best elf wriggling to give himself a chance to break free.
(Using acrobatics, inspiration to change disadvantage to a regular role. Wish me luck, otherwise Erven is dead and nom-nom-nom.)
Acrobatics : 14
Erven successfully breaks free from the sticky gooey adhesive slime on the mimic. It's a minor win for the staggering elf as he still has the pseudopod to contend with. He looks around to see only Bertolt left......a cold, icy shiver slides down the ranger's spine...

Onyx moves forwards (I14) and loosens his gauntlet. As he does, he stretches out his arm, sending a spray of pale green venom towards the sticky not-door. Unwilling to get stuck, he then moves back to his previous position.
Poison Spray. DC 14 Constitution or take 12 poison damage.
Bertolt will move closer and then curse as he reaches for his lute and begins to play a familiar haunting tune on it, a strange hum coming from him as he casts Dissonant Whispers on it.
It needs to pass a DC 14 wis save or take 8 or half as much if it passes.

Sho catches sight of the wriggling elf on the other side of the door, struggling to pull free from the gooey mess. He frowns and puts two fingers in front of his mouth, uttering a series of dark throaty incantations, wisps of black mist spreading and toiling to form the shape of skeleton hand that grabs onto the hungry mimic. He steps back to E11 in case Talion wants to come up and shoot.

Wis save - 8 ......
***Bertolt's spell seems to cause it great discomfort! Those in line of light see the mimic sprout another set of octopus-like arms and uses its reaction to begin to move slowly away from Bertolt, dragging the near unconscious elf with it. It ends at K12.
Sho creates a skeletal hand on the back of the mimic. It reaches to grab on to the monster but flickers and disappears -
Talion continues has run in pursuit of the others, pausing at H13 to assess Ervan's state -- is he still trapped, or did he escape the grapple after succeeding? As he runs he curses himself (not literally) -- it's not a damned grapple, it's glue! Strong glue. Strength has no part in it.
(( Actions depend on what he sees; I think the map is wrong -- Sho moved back to E11 ))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Still grumbling to himself about his failing memory, and surprised at the quality of the grapple, Talion launches another bolt of arcane energy at the creature then relinquishes his curse, finally he tries to ward the sickly elf from further attacks. Shouting to Ervan, he says, "Whatever you do, don't attack it, just break free and run when you can!" Unlike the last -- distinctly unpleasant -- feeling, Ervan now feels that some greater spirit is watching over him...at least to some extent.
Having done what he can, he too retreats, moving to F12.
Attack: 25 Damage: 12 + 3 (necro) + 2 (bludgeon)
Any creature attacking Ervan must make a DC14 WIS save. This is only stopped if Ervan attacks anything, or Talion ends it:
"Until the spell ends, any creature who Targets the warded creature with an Attack or a harmful spell must first make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the Attack or spell."
From my reading the Mimic will have to make a save each and every attack, until Talion stops concentrating...unless Ervan does something silly. Or dies.
"If the warded creature makes an Attack or casts a spell that affects an enemy creature, this spell ends. "
(( As a final note, seeing the appalling mental struggles that the elf has been going through -- and his apparent victory over them -- and now his near-death struggle, Talion send his inspiration to Ervan (now removed from Talion) ))
Talion has given sanctuary to Erven! Erven, you can also add an inspiration to your sheet.
Mimicwisdom save - 18
.The mimic looks down at its ensnared food and then around the room...a bit confused about why it is here now and not...there? "Hmmmm," it groans. Looking at the elf, it remembers how good the last bite was but... it hesitates as it senses something magical about the food...it only lasts for a second though, as it goes to chomp down on its surprisingly wriggly food! Attack:24Damage:7 and 4 acid damage.
.Its teeth crunch down on Erven's shoulder, eliciting a groan from the near unconscious elf. Erven falls unconscious and goes limp in the mimic's grasp.........
Sho will move to H14. Depending on how much he can see with the unyielding warrior in the way, he whispers something quietly to the unconscious elf still in the grasp of the sly predator, and summons divine flame atop of it, before the salivary chomping noises turn into crunchy sounds of cracking bones.

Mimicdex save - 19 ... Sho can see Erven and the mimic no problem, and all you need is to be able to see them. Erven regains 4 HP and is stabilized. Sho, I have you keeping at H14 - let me know if you want to be elsewhere.

As the creature bites down into Erven's neck and shoulder, he is still struggling, wiggling, trying his best to break free. He hears Talion's words in the back of his mind, "Whatever you do, don't attack it, just break free and run when you can!" If only he could...
He keeps struggling, clinging to life, but from the pain of the grasp fades into unconsciousness. With the pressure on his neck and shoulder he thinks about the statue in the other room and the grinning face.... he sees Sho's face, and that of his goddess bathed in blue light.....smiling at him.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Erven comes awake with a gasp, gurgling in his throat. “Aaaahhhh!” A sudden intake of air. With a stridorous voice he calls out to his companions “Ggggret that thingk! Haaallp!” He wiggles and inches away from it as much as he can, still being held.

Bertolt moves closer as he rushes forward to reach the other, looking towards the creature once more. Once it comes into sight he glares. "That is right! Fear me you living excrement!"
Vicious Mockery: 1 If it fails a DC 14 wis save.

Onyx, unable to get in close, shouts to Erven.
"Hang on, I'm gonna try and get behind it!"
Onyx will move and dash to H12.
Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
