Draconic sorcery draconic spells are now cast "at-will" in the character sheet. Pretty sure they aren't supposed to be cantrips... would be cool if they were though.
I have had multiple issues, at least with the pact fo the blade it's addressed here as currently dysfunctional, but divine soul also does not work I made a level 3 divine soul sorcerer in the 2024 rules and the cleric spells do not appear in the list of spells she is allowed to prepare.
The 2024 classes don't have access to Tasha's optional features. Since it is supposed to be backwards compatible, they should have the option to take most of them, but the character builder doesn't display them.
Tasha's rules only apply to pure 2014 characters. They are not pemitted on 2024 character just as you can't multiclass an older paladin with the new warlock
I’ve seen nothing that says that. Is there anything you can point to from the creators where they say that the updated classes aren’t backwards compatible with the Tasha’s options?
As it stands, at least from what I’ve seen, they should still be optional features that the updated classes can take with the only exceptions being replacement features that no longer have anything to replace (like deft explorer for ranger) and features that have gone from optional to default (like steady aim for rogue).
Created a Ranger and it doesnt show my extra attack a level 5 on character sheet. as well as at level 2 i get a "fighting style feat" but there is no drop down list to actually pick anything.
I have master tier, but all I'm getting are the free options, and only have access to Rogue, Cleric, Fighter, and Wizard. Not to mention none of the subclasses, and when I try to make a character with the updated rules I'm unable to use any of the subclasses I've previously purchased (EX: when trying to make a fighter with new rules, my only option is champion, despite owning the new PHB and having both echo Knight and rune knight.) This is obnoxious, I thought this was back compatible?
If you're having this issue, try logging out of DnD Beyond and then logging back in. I was having the same issue and this fixed it.
In the Rules Glossary there are some Exhaustion call outs that are misspelled as Exhuastion.
All the links still lead to the Exhaustion [Condition] in the Rules Glossary, they're simply misspelled.
4 instances in total Underlined, bolded, and increased in size below:
Malnutrition [Hazard]
A creature needs an amount of food per day based on its size, as shown in the Food Needs per Day table. A creature that eats but consumes less than half the required food for a day must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or gain 1 Exhuastion level at the day’s end. A creature that eats nothing for 5 days automatically gains 1 Exhaustion level at the end of the fifth day as well as an additional level at the end of each subsequent day without food.
Exhaustion caused by malnutrition can’t be removed until the creature eats the full amount of food required for a day. See also“Exhuastion.”
Suffocation [Hazard]
A creature can hold its breath for a number of minutes equal to 1 plus its Constitution modifier (minimum of 30 seconds) before suffocation begins. When a creature runs out of breath or is choking, it gains 1 Exhuastion level at the end of each of its turns. When a creature can breathe again, it removes all levels of Exhaustion it gained from suffocating.
Long Rest
A Long Rest is a period of extended downtime—at least 8 hours—available to any creature. During a Long Rest, you sleep for at least 6 hours and perform no more than 2 hours of light activity, such as reading, talking, eating, or standing watch.
During sleep, you have the Unconscious condition. After you finish a Long Rest, you must wait at least 16 hours before starting another one.
Benefits of the Rest. To start a Long Rest, you must have at least 1 Hit Point. When you finish the rest, you gain the following benefits:
Regain All HP. You regain all lost Hit Points and all spent Hit Point Dice. If your Hit Point maximum was reduced, it returns to normal.
Ability Scores Restored. If any of your ability scores were reduced, they return to normal.
Exhaustion Reduced. If you have theExhuastion condition, its level decreases by 1.
Made an existing character with the updated players handbook. Giving huge bonuses to skills an extra +13 for some reason . e.g. +30 to arcana, +12 to athletics with a negative strength score
1) Bard spells known is different from the tables at level 8. PHB table says level 8 you have 12 spells known. Character builder has 11 spells known. Normally you don't get another spell on an ASI level until the next level when you get 2 instead of 1. Not sure which is incorrect, the table or the character builder.
2) Dance bard's "Bardic Damage" unarmed attack in the actions section doesn't increase from wearing the Wraps of Unarmed Prowess, but the normal Unarmed Strike does. I assume the Bardic Damage is not "marked" as an unarmed strike.
I found the issue with my access, is that I had to have a campaign started for the character to be in, it did not work for me outside of campaigns on the account.
I don't if it's been posted here yet or not, didn't see it in the first 6 pages. When making a Ranger it still lists Hunter's Mark as a selectable spell even though you automatically get it.
I went through the character builder for a sorcerer, and the total number of prepared spells caps out at 15(like the legacy version at Level 17) on Level 10.
When you go through Levels 11 through 18, the total prepared spells stay at 15.
When you select Level 19, the total jumps to 21; at Level 20, it caps at 22 as it should.
Spells are missing from Gloom Stalker rangers as well as showing Dreadful Strikes in the Actions list. We're also seeing an issue with attacks per action and fighting styles for Rangers.
