In my current game I am using the "Gritty Realism" rules and adhere to the guidelines for the "Adventuring Day" suggestions for number/difficulty of encounters between long rests.
I'm curious for other DM's who use this ruleset - what do you do with magic items that regain their effect "at dawn" or "until the next day" (example: Wand of Web? Do they regain their effect every day, essentially multiplying their utility? Or do you change them to activate each *adventuring* day?
I currently am running them RAW, but as the player gain more and more magic items (party is currently Level 7), I feel like this may be unbalancing the adventuring day. I wonder if RAI was for these item to reset every long rest, and I'd love to get feedback from others who have run their game with this ruleset.
I would expect RAI is that they recover every long rest, but variant resting mechanics simply weren't given a lot of thought (for example: with gritty realism it's impossible to have a stable of undead with Animate Dead, and extremely impractical do do things like making Private Sanctum permanent).

I recharge them every dawn, it’s one of the few things they get to re-up between long rests after all.
