Hey all, I'm hoping someone will be able to give me an example of some 'micro-quests' (for lack of a better word).
Basically, my players need to take a ship to reach the next town. Problem is, the port city they're currently in has just been completely wrecked by a dragon attack - hundreds are dead, there's a lot of destruction, and there aren't any ships running.
In order to get where they're going, they'll need to assemble a crew and find a ship, like in Monkey Island 3, if anyone has played that.
The way I want them to do this is to find a person to fill each of the positions they need (Captain, Quartermaster, Master Gunner, etc.), and each person will have a small task for them that will take the party 20-30 minutes to do, so that by the end of the session, they'll have everything they need, and can set sail.
Does anyone have any examples of what sort of things I could do for this?
Could be an old crew. Like a getting the band back together type of missions. Each crew member could have reasons not to work with the other. And you gotta find a way to bring them together. Like two of them could have a lover's quarrel. Another is drunk, one won't sail without his lucky charm. The smallest thing could lead to an interesting tale.

That's a fantastic idea, I love it.
