I love constructs. Who doesn't? Druids. Be I'm not a druid. Anyway, the construct I can never seem to find story on is the Helmed Horror, and my party wants to know how to make one. O' wise forums... How does one make a Helmed Horror? (I know its opinion based, I want your opinions.)

I love roleplaying, message me so we can set something up.
I talk everything D&D, message me for questions, chat, arguements, or roleplay!
Maybe re-purpose rules for an iron golem. (Admittedly I don’t know them off the top of my head, so may not be feasible) Since a horror has a much lower CR, give it a lower price tag in terms of money and time.

A Flesh Golem is around the same difficulty of a Helmed Horror, so just take the Manual of Golems and make one for Helmed Horrors.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Considering the main benefit of a Helmed Horror is its immunity to force damage (the type most closely associated with magic), magical hovering flight, and its sentience, I'd say that the process of making it should require at least some necromancy; like you need to bind a dead person's soul to it like in Fullmetal Alchemist.
I apreciate all the responses! Will definitely consider them all. But next question, is there a form of amulet for a helmed horror like there is for a shield guardian?

Nope

I use a homebrew version of Articier called Mechanist which is basically a way to create contruscts and sentient golem-esque creation. Effectively your contruct starts off as an Animated Armour and as you gain Artificer levels you can give it temp bonuses and give itthe stats of a helmed horror and eventually (at lvl 17 Artificer) you can also give it a character level and make it sentient.

There's no official way of making Helmed Horrors.
You can make Golems, and Steel Defenders, and Homunculi, but not many other have rules for making them.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms

I'd be tempted to make a general rule that it costs 10 gp per xp. That's not consistent with the manual, but it seems balanced enough.
