Hey all, I'm looking to homebrew a shaman class based off of the WoW shaman (pre Legion expansion). All of the people I play with used to play WoW so I think it would be fun to homebrew classes from the game. This is the very beginnings of my ideas for the shaman, obviously there is a lot missing, this is just a start and I would like some input on what I have so far. Keep in mind that I don't really know what level the abilities I have so far would come into play, this is just getting started! Obviously the language isn't correct and flavor text is lacking, like I said, this is in the very early stages. I'm not sure if I want to model them after the paladin/ ranger. Let me know what you think so far!
Enhancement.
Weapon enhancements
Windfury:
On a successful attack, roll a d6, on a 4-6 you may make an additional attack, if that hits you may roll another d6, on a 5-6 you may make an additional attack. If that attack is a success, you may roll a d6, on a 6 you may make an additional attack. Each attack after the first is considered magical. This ability can only be used a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier in between each long rest.
Rockbiter:
Each melee attack made with this weapon deals an additional 1d8 magical bludgeoning damage. On a successful attack with this weapon, you may have the target make a constitution saving throw, on a failed save the target’s armor class is reduced by 1. This ability can stack, but only an amount of times equal to your Wisdom modifier.
Frostbrand:
Flametongue:
Elemental
Elemental Overload:
On a spell critical strike, you may roll 2 additional damage dice of that spells type.
Flame Shock:
Concentration 1 min
Ranged spell attack, deals 1d10 fire damage and the target is on fire, taking 1d4 fire damage at the beginning of each of its turns for the duration.
Whenever Flame Shock would deal damage to an enemy at the start of their turns, roll a d20, on a 20, double the damage of the d4, and you may use your reaction to cast Lava Burst (spell slots permitted) at that target.
Lava Burst
Ranged spell attack, does 3d10 fire damage.
If the target is afflicted with Flame Shock, you crit with this spell on a 18-20.
If this spell crits on a target afflicted with Flame Shock, you may have Flame Shock spread its flames to all targets within 10 feet of the enemy (make a ranged spell attack for each target).
It currently looks like either a druid or a monk subclass. Choosing a class will help make your vision clearer. It will help solidify the wording and the general mechanics of how abilities would work.

I’m working on a homebrew of a WoW Shaman at the request of one of my players. I was thinking of taking elements from Cleric and Druid. I was looking on here for some ideas and I like what I’ve seen.
