I'm still working on mine, but it's going to be a living illusion monster (I plan to eventually make one for each school of magic).
I was going to make monsters that are living schools of magic to!

This isn't actually a signature, just something I copy and paste onto the bottom of all my posts. Or is it? Yep, it is. Or is it..? I’m a hobbit, and the master cranial imploder of the "Oops, I Accidently Destroyed Someone's Brain" cult. Extended sig. I'm actually in Limbo, it says I'm in Mechanus because that's where I get my WiFi from. Please don't tell the modrons, they're still angry from the 'Spawning Stone' fiasco. No connection to Dragonslayer8 other than knowing them in real life.
Illusory Form. The living illusion can change appearance at will (no action required). When it changes appearance, it can look like anything it choose, potentially changing size. When it changes size, it's psychical size increases, and hit points increases or decreases by one for each size change, decreasing for getting smaller and increasing for getting larger.
Living Illusion. When the living illusion if subjected to the effects of an illusion spell, it can choose to instead not be effected.
Actions
Psychic Assault.RangedWeapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 200 ft., up to 2 targets within range. Hit: 7 (1d4 + 3) psychic damage.
Phantasmal Image. The living illusion creates the image of an object, a creature, or some other visible phenomenon that is no larger than a 10-foot cube. The image appears at a spot that it can see within 240 feet of itself and lasts for an hour. It seems completely real, including sounds, smells, and temperature appropriate to the thing depicted. It can't create sufficient heat or cold to cause damage, a sound loud enough to deal thunder damage or deafen a creature, or a smell that might sicken a creature (like a troglodyte's stench).
It can use it's action to cause the image to move to any other spot within range. As the image changes location, it can alter the illusion appearance so that its movements appear natural for the image. For example, if it creates an image of a creature and move it, the living illusion can alter the image so that the illusion appears to be walking. Similarly, it can cause the illusion to make different sounds at different times, even making it carry on a conversation, for example.
Physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it. A creature that uses its action to examine the image can determine that it is an illusion with a successful DC 14 Intelligence (Investigation). If a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, the creature can see through the image, and its other sensory qualities become faint to the creature.
Limited Invisibility (3/day). The living illusion becomes invisible for a minute, until it deals damage or forces a saving throw, or until it looses concentration (as if concentrating on a spell).
Reactions
Phantasmal Form (3/day). When the living illusion takes damage, it can use it's reaction to instead not take damage.
Description
Living illusions are illusions spells granted sentience, using either by a powerful spell or a spell backfire. Living illusions are illusions, and can both create an manipulate illusions. They generally try to cause harmless chaos, although can easily forced into submission by a mage, causing the living illusion to act as the mage wants them to act.
ONLY 2 or 3 (depending on time zone and how you want to count them) days remain for the challenge! If you want to submit homebrew, do so soon. Happy homebrewing!

Here's a poll for nest Monday's challenge. Vote for your favorite, and/or suggest more ideas to have them (probably) added to the poll.
It's a trap! Something to do with traps.
Wild Magic. Something using or inspired by the wild magic surge table.
It’s a trap!

Today's magical Monday is It's a Trap!. Create any monster, subclass, spell, magic item, race, feat, or other homebrew* based on or involving traps. You have until next Monday to submit your homebrew. I will put all submitted homebrew in the original post. Happy Homebrewing!
*Other homebrew includes anything else homebrew, such as eldritch invocations, epic boons, fighting styles, variant rules, backgrounds, mundane items, ect.
My submission is Runic Trap, and eldritch invocation for warlocks designed around creating elemental traps!
I am going to be making a dungeon sorcerous origin, I think (its a joke). It will have some focus on traps.

You can channel your patron's runic might. You can spend a minute next to as surface such as a doorknob, a gem, or a glass of water. After the minute, one of the following runes of your choice is inscribed onto the surface. The rune is visible, and covers about a square inch of space. The rune lasts for 24 hours.
Fire Rune. The rune of appears to be a stylized tongue of flame, in a small rectangular box. When a creature touches the rune, they take 4 (1d8) fire damage. Putting water on the rune dispels it.
Ice Rune. The rune appears to be three jagged spires inside of a circle. When a creature touches the rune, they must make a strength saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature becomes restrained for a round. Fire or things with similar heat dispel the rune.
Air Rune. The run appears to be three connected spirals. When a creature touches the rune, they are pushed 5 feet away from it. Dealing 10 damage to the rune dispels it.

Fun! The air vanishing condition should be when it is in a vacuum.

Divination is a good spell school to focus on as it is underused everywhere except the divination wizard
