So I've been trying to implement some of the Griffon's Saddlebag Subclasses for my personal use and...I think I'm just getting frustrated with the homebrew tool because trying to implement stuff in it tends to give me a headache. That said I know publishing published material is out of bounds (which sucks but legal nonsense I get it) but would it be against the rules for someone to do a step by step tutorial of how to implement a subclass into the homebrew tool over forums? Yes I'm wondering if it's okay for someone to hold my hand and show me how to do this because I apparently have the patience of an angry badger.

I don’t know about doing a step by step for a whole subclass, and honestly most of it is most likely covered in this FAQ. But if you lemme know about the parts in particular you are stuck on I can pro’ly help out.
I am trying to make a flail that does an extra d8 of acid damage every time it hits. As I understand the FAQ, the modifier for adding damage adds the text to the weapon but doesn’t actually affect rolling the damage on the character sheets. Is that right? There’s no way to add an extra die of damage that will roll on the character sheet if it has a different damage type than the regular weapon?

Correct. At least not currently at any rate. Trust me, nobody looks more forward to the day I have to revise that Items & Equipment FAQ more than I do.

I gotta say, I’m a little surprised to learn anyone actually reads my “FAQ update” posts. I mostly do it for the date stamp on when I updated what. I’m glad to know they are actually helpful to anyone other than myself.
For a couple of days I've been trying to create a race which speed and size increases with levels (on 5th and 15th level to be exact) but I just can't figure out how to get this to work. I've tried every parameter and option combination I can come up with but no luck (either the increased speed have been applied on first level or the base speed doesn't increase at all despite the level). Could someone kindly walk me through how to accomplish this?

That wouldn’t have been possible until very recently when they updated the race builder to include the new “Required Character Level” field for racial traits. I’m not sure if you can get the size to increase as I haven’t tried that yet, but to get the speed to increase you would create a new racial trait that lists “5” in that new field and apply the following Modifier to it:

Paladin main who spends most of his D&D time worldbuilding or DMing, not Paladin-ing.
Yeah, not a lot of questions come up “frequently” about monsters.

You can allow a Feat to cost a spell slot if you copy a feat that already allows it and just change the spell.
I just tested this using a copy of the Fey Touched feat and swapped in a homebrewed spell instead of misty step and it didn’t work. 🤷♂️

apologies if i missed this somewhere.. my only question is this:
once’s your homebrew creation is saved, is it accessible via the rules tab?
i.e. create a monster
go to game rules->monsters-> search for your new monster
As it stands, ive only been able to access the creature via the collection and via the encounter builder.
I was expecting that when i created something, i could the search for it in the rules tab…
any light shed would be most appreciated
thank you in advanced
