No Monk would take this feat because of that hard nerf. Better to rework it so it’s clear you mean. Besides, they only get 1 reaction / round anyway so you can skip it, and reactions require a trigger. Also, there are no such things as “skill checks,” only Ability checks that can have a (Skill) associated with them (but not always). And animals have Ki too, so why not just include all Wis checks? Whenever you are called on to make a Wisdom check or saving throw, before you roll the d20 you can use your reaction and spend 1 Ki to gain advantage on the roll.
