Does anyone have stats for a cursed magical book that you can never stop reading.
I think it might be cool to use in a game against a murder hobo player and I thought I'd ask before I spent a bunch of time making one.

I love drow, rogues and Chinese weapons. I mean come on, rope darts are awesome.
My current character is a drow shadow monk, with a "unique" honor code (give him some time, he's working through some stuff). He also sucks on the socialization side of interacting with all other living creatures. which is very fun to RP.
I don't have one but I have some general ideas for stats.

These would only work if the object was sentient but couldn't move. It could have some form of telepathy to get the reader hooked in the story that it created or do something similar to the curse on the Berserker Handaxe from the DMG page 155.
Maybe you have to make a wisdom saving throw with a progressively higher dc the longer you read it. Depending on how good you players are on not metagaming, you could make the check in secret, although I don't like doing that.
Something like this could be easily hidden in a library.
Maybe it could read the persons mind and transform into a book they are looking for.
once you fail the saving throw you are unable to stop reading until a spell like remove curse or dispel magic is cast on it.

Cool. (Seems like you just wrote it yourself.) Perhaps make the save DC 10 +1/ every 2 hours spent reading it (maximum DC 30). And don’t forget to make it an unending story with an infinite number of pages. Although I would skip the book transforming into whatever they are looking for as that could lead to some gnarly situations where it could contain information it shouldn’t be able to contain. Like, if they were lookin g for the BBE’s journal or something. I would make it a plain, nondescript book that compels them to leaf through it to find out what it is and leave it at that. Kinda like The Neverending Story meets The Number 23.
My current campaign has a cursed tome that has been passed down though a long line of necromancers. The book is sentient and written in Infernal, whoever opens the book hears whispers of the previous owners of the book. casting identity on the book results in 1d10 psychic damage. Attempting to read the book requires a wisdom saving throw (the DC increases the longer they read) if they fail the save they are pulled to the book, their mind being lost to the pages. Attempting to distinguish the voices requires a charisma saving throw (DC increases as well) on a failure they start to fall victim to the lies the voices tell them, slowly changing their alignment towards evil.
We had a WM sorcerer that gained his powers from the book, unfortunately the player had to leave the table, but the book had become plot relevant. The party still has the book, they've tried to read it a few times, most successful was our paladin. Our paladin has also asked if he can intentionally fail on these saves, going deeper and deeper into the magic of the book to start taking levels in warlock. I'm hyped to rp the levels into warlock.

I don’t, but this is an interesting idea. What all were you thinking?
