I am trying to make a homebrew feat that, in part, gives a character a swimming speed, but when I test this feat out with a character the swim speed doesn't show up on the sheet. I've tried adding it as a Bonus Modifier and it simply doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can set up a feat, class feature etc. to give additional speeds?
If you want to set a specific number you enter it into the Fixed Value field, if you want it to match their walking speed then leave it blank and just use the Modifier & Subtype.
To increase a preexisting speed you would use Modifier: Bonus->Subtype Speed (Swimming)->Fixed Value: X.
If you wanted a feat that granted a 30 ft swimming speed if you don’t already have one, or increase it by 15 if you do already have one, then you would use both modifiers and set the Fixed Value for each of them to 15. That will grant a base of 15 if they don’t already have a swimming speed, and then boost their swimming speed by 15 if they do, including the swimming speed granted by the first one.

I hope that made sense.
What if I want to give a character a swimming speed equal to their walking speed if they don't already have one, and increase their swimming speed by 10 feet if they do already have one? More specifically, how can I do this such that it accounts for species that don't necessarily have 30 feet as their innate walking speed (like dwarves, wood elves, etc)?
Here's what I've tested so far:
This gives a 30 ft swimming speed to a human character, a 25 ft swimming speed to a mountain dwarf character, and a 30 ft swimming speed to a triton character (rather than the desired 40):
Modifier: Set->Subtype: Innate Speed (Swimming) [no entry for fixed value, to keep it the same as innate walking speed]
This gives a 25 ft swimming speed to a human character (rather than the desired 30), a 25 ft swimming speed to a mountain dwarf character, and still a 30 ft swimming speed to a triton character (rather than the desired 40):
This gives no swimming speed to a human or mountain dwarf character (as expected), and still just a 30 ft swimming speed to a triton character (rather than the desired 40):
I'm not entirely sure what to make of this, but it seems like anytime a character has an innate swimming speed set equal to their walking speed (whether through this feat or through racial traits like the triton's 'Speed' trait), it doesn't allow any further bonus modifiers to the swimming speed. Any thoughts?

Thank you. Does this work for increasing a speed someone already has or do I have to add that as another modifier?

Yes thank you a lot. You made my feat able to work as I want it to
I wish the site itself made this all easier to understand without asking for help lol.
I’m happy to help.

To set a swimming speed as automatically equal to the creature’s walking speed, you would use this:
Modifier: Set->Subtype: Innate Speed (Swimming)
That’s it, leave everything else blank.
As for the bonuses to speeds, those haven’t worked correctly in months for some reason? 🤷♂️

Hi, is it possible to double a current speed or do I just have to manually add fixed value to match current speed?
