Hello, my DM gave me an item that would give me a +1 bonus to both attack rolls and damage. I have managed to imbue the item with the attack roll bonus, but I can't seem to find a way to give it the damage roll bonus. Is this possible?
so you actually can, but I had to look this up on YouTube. You need to go down into into Modifiers, hit bonus, for the type of bonus you hit magic, and then you put in your average +1 in the fixed value portion.
yes, it does. create a magic item, let's say, a longsword of some type that gives you +1 to your attack and damage. Create 2 modifiers under the modifiers menu,1 will be:

i just used Long Sword as an example but that specific setup should work for any melee weapon you want. There's a specific option for ranged unarmed attacks spell attacks and specific damage types. so you might just have to try adding modifiers and putting the item onto a character to see what works
You misunderstood me. What I meant was did it add those bonuses only to the weapon the modifiers were applied to, or does adding them to a single magic item apply those bonuses to every weapon attack regardless of which weapon is used? For example, if you put them on a wondrous item, does it affect all the character’s weapon attacks?
ah. i did misunderstand. my bad. in which case the long sword example only applies them to the longsword. i will have to try with a different kind of item to see if it applies to all damage
I am currently trying to make a custom item that has +1 to Attack and Damge Roll but only for itself. If I follow this guide then all other weapons I hold will have those bonuses applied. How do I only add it to that weapon?

Unfortunately there is no mechanical way to automatically add +1 to all of your damage rolls.

Well, that's an unfortunate shortcoming that you'd think would have been implemented from the start...
you will find a lot of those unfortunately.
I write homebrew and don't publish it. (evil, I know)

That’s on a per-weapon basis. There’s no way to make 1 item that gives that benefit to all your attacks.

you have to add 2 different modifiers 1 that gives a bonus to attacks nd 1 that gives a bonus to damage
That damage won’t get automatically applied to the character’s damage rolls, it’ll just add a note next to the dmages if it works at all.

yes, it does. create a magic item, let's say, a longsword of some type that gives you +1 to your attack and damage. Create 2 modifiers under the modifiers menu,1 will be:
Modifier - Bonus, Subtype - Melee Attacks, Fixed Value - 1
the second one will be:
Modifier - Damage, Subtype - Melee Weapon Attacks, Fixed Value - 1
if you do this when you equip the weapon on your character sheet it will give you +1 to hit and damage and they will show up on your sheet
For that long sword, or for all melee weapon attacks?

Yeah, to just apply it to the weapon itself it’s easier to simply use Bonus->Magic->1

Aren’t they the same?
