To the DMs. I simply want to know if this is too OP or if it would be ok in YOUR campaign environment. A simple YES or NO with a Tiny explanation will do!
Quality: Very Rare
1d10 Piercing +2 (to hit and damage)
Made of Adamantine
This is more 'bulky' than a 'hidden blade'. So its Not hidden, its openly attached to my arm and can be seen. I would be using it similar to any very rare sword. I'm using it as a level 15 character. 9th level fighter, Sorcerer 4 and Warlock 2 Multiclass. Shaped and Crafted similar to a Pike(Hence the 1d10 and not 1d8). Which is a Standard uncommon 1d10 martial weapon.
It’s hard to say “yes” or “no” because there are some inaccuracies:
Adamantine weapons only automatically count as critical hits when they hit an object, not a creature.
Sneak Attack is a rogue feature and has nothing to do with whether or not a weapon is visible. Do you mean “surprise” instead?
Essentially what you have described is a weapon that deals 1d10 damage (2d10 against objects), has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, and doesn’t occupy a hand. If that’s what you intended, then comparing it to a dancing sword or an animated shield…. I guess I’d probably allow it, yeah.
If you mean something different then you’re gonna hafta clarify your intentions.
My whole life I didnt realize that Admantize was not a crit on creatures. So making it Adamantine for fighting/combat is useless (unless like a construct maybe?) - Thanks for that.
Ill remove that from the post because it was irrelevant. I was just noting I was not planning to use surprise attacks with it. This would make me think a +2 would be acceptible.

Since the blade is attached to the wrist like in the games I assume the range for the attack is the same as unarmed strikes? Otherwise, I would allow this in my games. I homebrewed a similar hidden blade only it attached to the top of the arm like in Republic commandos. Great Job.
Does it occupy a hand? Can you wield a shield in the same hand as this blade? If it is modelled after a Pike is it a two-handed weapon? Is it going to count for PAM? Does it have reach? Would it be usable for Attacks of Opportunity?
I would guess that you are only using a Pike to get the d10 and it will otherwise be just a one-handed finesse sword with 5ft reach (you could use a Longsword instead for modeling the mechanics).
Basically, I'm not sure what the benefits of this is supposed to be over just a regular +2 longsword? Or do you intend it to be like the Scimitar of Speed where you could use it for a BA attack?
1. Does NOT occupy my hand. BUT. just like Assassin creed. It wouldn't be feasible to carry a second weapon in that same hand with the blade stretched out(activated).
2. You Could Not use a shield and be able to have the blade function.
3. It is 1-handed
4. IDK what 'PAM' is
5. No extra reach. Standard 5ft weapon attack range.
6. It is usable for attacks of opportunity, the same as any other weapon.

See #3 👇.
That should be rather obvious to people, but it never hurts to state that stuff outright.
It can’t be one-handed because it doesn’t occupy an and as per #1. “One-handed” literally indicates that it requires 1 hand to attack with it, just as “two-handed” indicates that it requires 2 hands on the weapon to attack with it.
PAM = the Polearm Master feat. They’re asking about that because they saw you based it off of a pike (which has reach), but they aren’t sure.
See #4 👆.
They didn’t ask anything about Attacks of Opportunity. They asked about “BA attacks.” BA = Bonus Action. They’re asking if you can get an extra attack on your turn if you spend a bonus action like you can with the scimitar of speed. Sorry, my bad, they did ask about OAs, I just didn’t see it earlier.

Basically the difference is, with a longsword it only does 1d8 when wielded with one hand and 1d10 when wielded with two hands. This thing that Snapecot has cooked up deals 1d10 all the time, and it leaves both hands free to hold other stuff with the exception being that you cannot hold/wield/wear a shield in the same hand you have this blade strapped to.

So essentially the main perk would be that you can grapple & attack with the same hand. As there isn't a whole lot you can do with a free hand otherwise, I guess there is holding a spellcasting focus, but that could be mimicked with a Ruby of the Warmage anyway. So it's more or less just a +2 longsword with "Flex" from the UA from a mechanical perspective. So it could really just be a Rare item.
Though I would recommend Snapcoat talk with their DM about how it would work with Attacks of Opportunity, since generally you need to have a weapon in your hand already to use it for Attacks of Opportunity so logically it would only work for them if it was already in it's "activated" form. But from a power/balance perspective it's probably fine to have it be usable for AoO even when retracted.

Yeah, I’m inclined to agree with you that it does feel a little anemic, especially for super stealth assassin’s blade, and for a Very Rare item. I would actually make it concealable under clothing (kinda like how one can hide a mithral chain shirt/breastplate) and add on the finesse & light properties, and the special property too to cover what I’m about to write next. I would also give it a special thing where if you start your turn with it concealed and your first attack is against someone who is surprised, or who has either the blinded or unconscious condition, or who otherwise has absolutely no effing clue you’re about to shank the bejeepers outta them (very technical language that), then if that first hits that creature it is automatically is a critical hit.
Yeah there's a lot you could do to make it more interesting, depending on what kind of flavour / use-case you want to emphasize.
Sneaky-Assassiny :
Finesse, Light Concealable: As a bonus action you can hide this weapon in your clothing even while you remain in plain sight. Roll a Stealth check, against your target's passive perception on a success you make the next attack with this weapon against that target with advantage. In addition, if the target is blinded or incapacitated then if the attack hits it is a critical hit.
Bulky-Grappler-y:
Stomach Thrust: If you make an attack with this weapon against a creature you are grappling you roll the attack with advantage and on a hit you deal an additional 1d6 piercing damage. You cannot use this ability again until you spend a bonus action to retract this weapon.

Nope, constructs are still creatures, not objects.
