I need some help with adding some features to a Homebrew Race/Species
1. I want the race to start off with an additional XX amount of Hit Points. I have tried Add a Racial Trait > (feature type granted) > Modifiers > Type: Bonus, Subtype: Hit Points, Fixed Value: XX. No change in the amount of hit points when testing a character out. Is there another option or way to add this?
2. I am also trying to give the racial trait of additional Ability Points when they reach a certain character level (lvl 10). I have tried Racial Trait > Feature type: Granted, Required Character Level: 10 > Modifiers> Type: Bonus, Subtype: Choose an ability score to increase by 1, Fixed Value 1. The trait appears at level one and can also choose where to add the point at this level. How can I lock/hide it until the character reaches the requisite level?
Neither of those things is possible in DDB’s system. That Modifier Subtype you are trying to use for the HP does not do what people think it does. It is supposed to enact instant boosts to current HP (not max HP), intended to accommodate stuff like a potion of healing. Unfortunately though, temporary affect such as that are not supported by DDB, so that doesn’t work properly either. It is possible to use that Modifier to grant a bonus to a PC’s max HP, but you can’t set it at a fixed value like you want to, it has to be based off of a character stat such as Con mod or PB.
It doesn’t matter at what level a racial/species trait is set, any Modifier attached to any trait will always be automatically implemented immediately at character creation. There are only two things you can do for that trait, either:
List it in plain text as part of the trait and leave it up to the player to manually adjust their Ability Score directly on their character sheet at the appropriate level.
Implement it as a separate feat that the player will have to manually add to their character at the appropriate level.
As a side note, those two traits alone would likely make your species OP all by themselves depending on how high you set the HP boost, and how many APIs. If it has anything else too it will almost definitely be OP.
Thank you for the help! I was planning on doing a hardcore DnD campaign. Which is why I wanted to increase starting HP and have the characters start with lower stats but grow as the character grows. A little bit faster than the normal 4 lvl (ABI). Having the players manually override the max HP works as well.
Is there an item or feat that can increase in level and gain new bonus at those levels. Or do I need to create separate items and feats and just have the players replace the original versions?

Depends on what exactly you want to increase. You will most likely need to do separate and replacement, or work it all into a subclass.
